I still haven't finished this book because the narrator has such a soft and gentle voice that I fall asleep. Not that that is a bad thing.
So far, this book has been amazing.

But for the unlucky one percent - and nearly five million souls in the United States alone - the disease causes "Lock In": Victims fully awake and aware, but unable to move or respond to stimulus. The disease affects young, old, rich, poor, people of every color and creed. The world changes to meet the challenge.

While this is Sanderson’s first published work, it in no way falls short. I fell in love with the complex worlds he created in the cosmere (and out) and his unparalleled prose, and I lust for them at every opportunity. Elantris is no different.
He wove a spellbinding tale that kept me guessing and wondering the whole way through. He creates flawed and interesting characters. Raoden, Serene, And Hrathen had me captivated the whole way through. Not to mention the rest of the cast of characters.
A must read for any fantasy lover looking for a new author to fall in love with.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Brandon Sanderson has quickly made his way to the top of my favourite author list. This is my second Cosmere book, and my fifth Sanderson book. He has an amazing ability to weave new worlds that you wish you could jump into and be a part of. Luckily his books are so well written that you do feel like you’re a part of his worlds.
The final empire was an amazing book full of action, twists and turns, and amazing characters.
Vin is a wonderfully written and relatable character!
I can’t wait to read the well of Ascension.
Anyone looking for well written fantasy will not be displeased with any of Sanderson’s work, especially not this book.
