with a subject matter that can at times be a bit dry, this author chose an excellent narrator to keep the listener's attention.

a little short, could use more depth to support such a big claim. I enjoyed the book, would recommend it to those exploring dietary issues that relate to better health.

There is no doubt in my mind that much of the content of this book is extremist advice. I did some fact checking on a few points and found inconsistencies in some of the authors claims, but that could be due to the 16 years that separate the publication date and the date of my fact checking.
The overall arguments for maintaining optimum health are well laid out. The book is engaging, interesting and very well narrated. recommended.

I listened to this woman yammer on for hours about TV shows and stories about her Dad, hoping there would be some profound revelation about the theme of enough. Didn't happen.

I think this book is a good listen for anyone who enjoys a big picture analysis of something as complex as American society. I know Hedges is a bit of a doomer but I found the anti-capitalist views a good part of a well balanced informational diet.

A really good listen. The book is a bit long and could be shorter while still getting the message across. The narration is excellent, and it is this aspect of audiobooks that can really add to the overall learning experience while enjoying a book like this one. Highly recommended.

while the majority of the book is very interesting and really captured my imagination about the middle years, there are some parts that were fairly boring and contributed little to the overall themes of the book.
