Exactly the book I needed

I’m a black and white kind of person, so when a book is filled with spirituality, I often drift off. This book, however, had a great blend of spirituality and facts that can be directly translated into actionable steps. It helped me to step out of the black and white so I could see things through others’ eyes.
The State of Affairs
- Rethinking Infidelity
- Written by: Esther Perel
- Narrated by: Esther Perel
- Length: 11 hrs and 57 mins
An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

Lots of stories. Somewhat helpful.
There were lots of stories in this book. I suppose I would have got more out of it if I didn’t go in with the assumption that this would tell me how strengthen my relationship and reduce the risk of cheating or being cheated on. I did get some guidance out of the stories. This isn’t a self-help book but rather “learn by example”.
I would recommend it nevertheless.
