Millions of words have poured forth about man's trip to the moon, but until now few people have had a sense of the most engrossing side of the adventure; namely, what went on in the minds of the astronauts themselves - in space, on the moon, and even during certain odysseys on earth. It is this, the inner life of the astronauts, that Tom Wolfe describes with his almost uncanny empathetic powers that made The Right Stuff a classic.

This is a great retelling of the history of the space program in America, told with such clarity and detail one feels as if they were there. Dennis Quaid is the perfect narrator, given the tone of the book. Wonderful stuff cover to cover.

A little slow to get going, but once the characters are introduced the story flows wonderfully. A little dark, but always appropriately so. Enjoyed it right to the end

This storey has the right balance if complexity and plot advancement. Keeps you hooked the whole way, and the characters are as vibrant as they are varied.
