If you're looking for a good, entertaining story, run away. Run far away. This book was not meant to entertain the masses (or if it was, I think it failed miserably), it was meant to be artfully clever in ways that do absolutely nothing for plot and character.

I'm not saying the author is not a good writer. I'm saying this book is written for literature lovers, not story lovers. It is meant to be dissected in classrooms by people who enjoy that sort of thing (or are forced to be there because they need the credit and they thought Lit 101 would be easy).

Literature leaves me cold and bored. This book left me freezing and comatose. That will either sound like a damning indictment or high praise, depending on your personal tastes.

This was a great follow up to the success of The Martian, and I hope this one ends up in theaters too.

I love seeing female characters who aren't delicate, simpering, love-sick fools, and Artemis delivers that and so much more.

Can't wait for the next Andy Weir creation!

I'll start off by saying this isn't the type of novel I usually read, but once in a while I branch out and try something new.

I enjoyed the first half because it felt like a mystery novel, but then the author switched gears and it felt a bit jarring to me, as though I was reading two different stories...but if you've read this book you'll understand when I say that this was probably intentional and kept with the overall theme. So...yay?

It wasn't my cup of tea, but I recognize good writing when I see it, and this was good writing. There is a reason it has won awards, and you might just love it.

I think this is the first time an ending has ever truly surprised me, and yet it feels so right. The author stayed true to the characters and their choices and gave us the ending we deserved, not the one we may have wanted. And, as always, Luke Daniels was stellar and had me laughing out loud like a crazy person. This series will always have a special place in my library.

I didn't think I could continue listening to this series after the original narrator passed away, but Jasmine Blackborow does an AMAZING job, and fans of Georgie will be pleased with the choice.

Another comfy-cozy mystery from Rhys Bowen!
