Story
East London, 1888 - a city apart. A place of shadow and light where thieves, whores, and dreamers mingle, where children play in the cobbled streets by day and a killer stalks at night, where bright hopes meet the darkest truths. Here, by the whispering waters of the Thames, Fiona Finnegan, a worker in a tea factory, hopes to own a shop one day, together with her lifelong love, Joe Bristow, a costermonger's son. With nothing but their faith in each other to spur them on, Fiona and Joe struggle, save, and sacrifice to achieve their dreams.

Just Skip The Teen Erotica Bits and It's Not Awful
Reviewed: 2021-02-23
I could have done without the unnecessarily descriptive erotica. Thank goodness for fast forward. Minus the Harlequin romance bits, it was a simple but listenable audio book.
Slightly simplistic near misses, and overboard unbelievable misunderstandings but I didn't see the end coming and the descriptions were nice and that counts for something.
I'm glad it was free, it's not something I'd pay for.

Not my sense of humour
Reviewed: 2019-07-24
The story was lacking depth and thoughtfulness. It reads like something created quickly without much consideration, like a weekly radio program or an episode of Community or Baroness Von Sketch. The quality of sound and clarity of voice were great. It's just not my sense of humour.
