Captain Tyler Barron and the crew of Dauntless are finally enjoying the rest they've earned while their aging battleship gets the repairs and refit it desperately needs. But their respite will be short-lived. In the Badlands, deep in the haunted vastness of pre-Cataclysmic space, a new discovery threatens to upset the balance of power. Orbiting a world in a distant system is an ancient battleship, vastly larger and enormously more advanced than anything possessed by the contending powers.

I enjoyed the story for the most part but the forced romance was just horrible and impossible to get threw. And the captain just made dumb decision after dumb decision for 3/4 of the book what happened he was brilliant in the last 2 books i just hope the ronance is gone after this or at the very least becomes bearable.

When It Falls, book 5: After their success against the Ascendants is used by the Vestibulum as a cover for the murder of their old enemies, Sean has discovered that the Vestis are far more ruthless and dangerous than the previous two councils he's fought. After 200 years of holding on to the leadership position among all of the councils, obviously the Vestibulum isn't going to give up anything to anyone. Stand on It, book 6: Once again, Sean's home has been attacked by one of the Councils, only this time they've committed what they hoped would be an overwhelming force.
