For the Owens family, love is a curse that began in 1620, when Maria Owens was charged with witchery for loving the wrong man. Hundreds of years later, in New York City at the cusp of the '60s, when the whole world is about to change, Susanna Owens knows that her three children are dangerously unique.

Marin's voice was a pleasure to listen to! Was eagerly waiting for this prequel and was not disappointed. Hoffman brought so many things to light that I wish Practical Magic had touched on, in the movie as well as the book. But I get it wasn't about the aunts in that one. Honestly hope Hoffman writes another installment with the owens family, maybe Marie's story?

Her voice and the emotion in it as she reads is electrifying. After the last chapter, I wanted there to be more! Her take on things, especially old lady Jackson was so engaging and spot on for me. Can't wait for the next book!!!!

I did my best to keep listening and honestly couldn't do it. Her enunciation of every syllable drove me up the wall and her voice grated on me. I'm sure if i could have pushed through, the story may have been amazing. With a different voice reading it, I'd try again. I'd rather buy the book and read it myself.
