Stories are alright but recording is odd

The stories were pretty much what I expected; old children's stories. They have no real morals or happy endings. I wouldn't really categorize them as actually appropriate for young children. The language is a little difficult for using a lot of old English terminology and describing unfamiliar lifestyles.

What really caught me off guard was that the recording included times that the reader would have to repeat sentences because she got lost, or when she would cough. At first I thought I was going crazy but rewinding it, those sounds were left in the recording. It was very odd. Otherwise she was fine. I wouldn't blame the narrator so much as I would the recording studio.

it's pretty violent for a children's book.

murder, dismemberment, canablismism. I'm only on story 6. don't let the young ones listen as the fall asleep.

poor quality but the kids love it

some of the voices and wording is odd and a little hard to understand. there were a few repeated lines and even a cough at one point but the price was excellent the kids listen to it over and over again.

narration isnt good

I'm sorry. I try to say something nice but it's really hard. this narrator just doesnt seem to understand punctuation or ups and downs of a conversation. I'm sure the stories are good - however I dont know because we cant seem to listen past the first half of the first story.

it's a very hard listen for us. its supposed to be a kids story - its doesnt let on of being the case.

I'm trying to find out how to get it off my phone compleletly

Disappointed

displeased with narrator and with stories. I feel that I should appreciate these more, coming from such names as Hans Christian Anderson and The Brothers Grimm, but I found it very difficult to finish.

not age appropriate

our 4 children aged 9-12 found the few stories we started to read, quite disturbing. I'm glad they're not desensitized.
