The stories, I know, are brilliant but I just couldn't listen to the terrible, terrible reader. Maybe it gets better but life is too short to listen to awful narration.

Terrible reader - had to make it stop!!

Narrator is mostly monotone, very little inflection. Choice of where to break in a sentence is often jarring.

Save your money and avoid this title.

Very poor narration

The first reader keeps repeating words, and the 2nd reader isn't much better. Text-to-Speech would be better to listen to.

Not worth more than $1

one blooper? ok. two? eek. this sounded like a 4th grade class all taking turns reading. i just gave up.

Very poor reading.

It's like each sentence runs into each other. there's no clear difference in speakers when reading dialogue. it's like listening to a computer speak. and i think there's something wrong with the audio because it seems to skip and replay sentences.

The narrator doesn't now how to tell a story

another waste of time from audible that cannot be deleted from the account screen.

waste

The narrator restarts sentences over and over, talks in a monotone voice and mispronounces words and puts the inflection on the wrong part of words. Thank God he doesn't read all the stories.

Horrible narration.

The mix of stories includes some that are quite good but the majority are just ok. Nothing really ‘Wow! I loved that one!’ A slightly bigger issue is that the reader didn’t have an editor cut out the numerous half lines that he then goes back to pick up again. In, let’s say most stories, it happens only once or twice. Unfortunately there are a couple tales when either the reader is at the end of a long day or has just decided to power through and we have four or five in a couple of minutes and it starts to annoy.

All of that said, for less than a dollar when I bought it I listened to the 24 hours.

Not the mix I would have picked, read ok

The narrator read in a monotone broken only by repeated phrases, nonexistent comma pauses and mispronounced words.
I could feel the earth shake as the authors rolled in their graves.

Good Stories can be spoiled by poor reading

Couldn't finish. Counted 27 miss takes in one book alone. Wish this wasn't a gift so I could ask for my money/credit back.

hire a better editor.
