About this listen
Power, privilege, and the rigid rules of class leave two hearts yearning for connection in the sizzling new Society of Gentlemen novel from K. J. Charles.
Among his eccentric though strictly principled group of friends, Lord Richard Vane is the confidant on whom everyone depends for advice, moral rectitude, and discreet assistance. Yet when Richard has a problem, he turns to his valet, a fixer of unparalleled genius - and the object of Richard's deepest desires. If there is one rule a gentleman must follow, it is never to dally with servants. But when David is close enough to touch, the rules of class collide with the basest sort of animal instinct: overpowering lust.
For David Cyprian, burglary and blackmail are as much in a day's work as bootblacking - anything for the man he's devoted to. But the one thing he wants for himself is the one thing Richard refuses to give: his heart. With the tension between them growing to be unbearable, David's seemingly incorruptible master has left him no choice. Putting his finely honed skills of seduction and manipulation to good use, he will convince Richard to forget all about his well-meaning objections and give in to sweet, sinful temptation.

Couldn't Put It Down
I hardly even know what to say. This book tore my heart up and sewed it back together piece by piece. It was agonizing and wonderful, and delightfully delicious.
Lord Richard and David Cyprian are now officially one of my favourite book couples. Their inner quarrels and their deep love for each other were addictive. I quite literally couldn't put this book down.
I loved seeing the previous books' characters again, watching them interact in a large group, and I loved that the plot brought them all together. I wish that I could read more and more of these characters, and am sad that this is the last in the trilogy.
K.J. Charles has quickly become one of my favourite authors. I very much look forward to reading whatever comes next!

Superb & Great Conclusion to Amazing trilogy
I honestly thought Magpies was going to be the best of all KJ Charles' works, but this series is superb! Each novel has been so different, dealing with a different (oh so different) relationship.
Cyprian, the pining red headed valet/spy/flashman to Lord Richard Vane - this novel looks at the power dynamics between a valet who wants so much and a master who is punctilious in denying his desires, to be the ideal master - aloof and mindful of his duty. There is more pine than in a BC Forest.
But when the characters from the earlier novel are imperilled, Cyprian is needed to solve matters behind the scene, but is no longer Richard's Valet.
This is a solid 4.5 star book, and the at conclusion of the scheming is incredibly satisying HEA, but it is also the end of a hugely satisfying fabulous trilogy.

Most engaging one yet
A toss up for best of the 3. I loved it. David stole my heart with his vulnerability.
