Thank you again, Lisa Wingate!
I am now a hard and fast fan of Lisa Wingate. I found this book after reading 'Before We Were Yours' in another format. As soon as I finished it, I knew I needed more from this incredible author who weaved such a beautiful, but devastating world. But I am not here to review that book...
'A Month of Summer' is a very different book, and although similar in structure (presenting two separate yet related viewpoints) I was, again, absorbed right into the fabric of this story. The book is written with a beautiful understanding and empathy for the characters in it, and I felt everything! Frustration, compassion, anger, sadness, hope, fury, love. This book is a gift. The author has become one of my favourite voices and already I look forward to the next book. The hardest part is choosing which to start with.
