Publisher's Summary

The best investment guide money can buy, with more than 1.5 million copies sold, now fully revised and updated.

Today's stock market is not for the faint of heart. At a time of frightening volatility, what is the average investor to do? The answer: Turn to Burton G. Malkiel's advice in his reassuring, authoritative, gimmick-free, and perennially best-selling guide to investing. Long established as the first book to purchase before starting a portfolio or 401(k), A Random Walk Down Wall Street now features new material on "tax-loss harvesting", the crown jewel of tax management; the current bitcoin bubble; and automated investment advisers; as well as a brand-new chapter on factor investing and risk parity.

And as always, Malkiel's core insights - on stocks and bonds, as well as real estate investment trusts, home ownership, and tangible assets like gold and collectibles - along with the book's classic life-cycle guide to investing, will help restore confidence and composure to anyone seeking a calm route through today's financial markets.

Just Alright

If you've never read a single investing book such as The Four Pillars of Investing, then this would be a great book to start out with, otherwise its just the same old information with a little bit on top of that.

Amazing

The best book on intelligent investing strategies I’ve come across. Well-written and witty. Great listen/read.

Not what I thought.

It was a little bit of a dry story. It lacks the compelling nature of good storytelling.

Not worth the money

Concepts are not well explained, and you don't really learn how to trade. This whole book could be summarized in "save money, buy common stocks and/or bonds hold them instead of trading regularly". That is great advice, but you don't need to listen to 11 hours of this book to figure that out. I wouldn't recommend this book. I'm glad I listened to the audio book though, because I'd have wasted more time if I read a hardcopy.

Boring monotone voice

This title is something I really want to be able to listen to but the voice actors voice is just so boring and monotone it makes it hard to even absorb the information. I had the same issue with Guns, germs and Steele and wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same actor. Guy shouldn’t get work doing this.
