Publisher's Summary

In A Stranger in Town, the next riveting thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong, the paranoia increases - along with the stakes - as the town of Rockton tries to solve the latest mystery at their door.

Detective Casey Duncan has noticed fewer and fewer residents coming in to the hidden town of Rockton, and no extensions being granted. Her boyfriend, Sheriff Eric Dalton, presumes it’s the natural flux of things, but Casey’s not so sure. It seems like something bigger is happening in the small town they call home.

When an injured hiker stumbles from the woods, someone who seems to have come to the Yukon for a wilderness vacation but instead is now fighting for her life, it’s all hands on deck. What - or who - attacked this woman, and why?

With the woman unconscious, and no leads, Casey and Eric don’t know where the threat is coming from. Plus, the residents of their deeply secretive town are uneasy with this stranger in their midst. Everyone in Rockton wants this mystery solved - and fast.

love them but...

the stories move well, they're interesting, and the narration is perfect. my only critique would be that the premise of the story is a safe place for people. there's nothing safe about this spot. no one would stay once that many crimes happened and it was that dangerous. also, Casey is smart. why does it constantly have her running into the danger? into the woods alone. over and over. she would be too smart for that I assume. knowing she puts others in danger.
ah well, enjoyable, just questioning the credible aspect I guess. still love them. it is fiction after all.

Very slow

Not worth a credit. If you need sound to fall asleep to, this is for you.

Great book!

I love the series and that the books keep twisting the whole plot deeper and deeper with the counsel.
The part with the bears had me on the edge of my seat and almost as anxious as the characters!

Learn to Pronounce the Provinces

I am enjoying the books. But I am very disappointed that a book written by a Canadian author has a narrator that is incapable of pronouncing Newfoundland. It rhymes with understand. It is insulting and upsetting (especially when the word is used so frequently) to hear it so badly mangled time and time again.

Awesome book! I love this series!

If you read the other books in this series you will love this one too. It’s just as good as the others. I’m worried it may be the last in the series just because of the ending. I hope not though.

Another wonderful Rockton book

I love this series so much - I fear the day when it all comes to an end. All I want is to visit the Yukon now for a wilderness adventure. The narration is incredible and the writing, well I have been reading Kelley Armstrong since I was 11 years old and I’m now 24 so I think that says a lot about how much I admire and continue to love her work.
