The story

Great Audiobook, only a few pronunciation errors
The narrator mispronounces a lot of the names that come from Ancient Egypt, but it's a minor gripe. overall the audiobook is very good.

Fantastic
Others might disagree, vehemently, but I found the narrator to be excellent. His voice and style of narration made the reading more of an oration, in the style of an old spinner of tales delighting the gathered with an epic story, rather than a cinematic telling where the different voices distance the narrator and each character comes to the fore, like a film. In other books in this series, the cinema narration is perfect. However, for me, the narrator, with his slight flaws in pronunciation adding to the humanness of the telling, was the perfect choice to tell Magnus's tale. I think Mahavastu Kallimakus would certainly agree.

Narrarator is awful, story is fantastic
this is the first HH book ive listened to where i absolutely couldn't stand the narrarator. He has no grasp on certain characters such as The Emperor and Mortarion. even some of the secondary characters voices are almost impossible to listen to. His magnus voice is passable, Ahriman barely so.
the story is very good, thoroughly enjoyed it. id definitely recommend picking up the physical book for this one tho.

great background on the thousand son's
great story told frommthe thousand son's point of view gives a lot of context to why they are the way they are . and makes you the reader feel sorry for them. everything they do for the right reasons even if it is inevitably wrong

Fantastic book.

A nice entry for Magnus
I think after reading this I understand far more why things happened in the hours heresy. Performance was great and the structure of the novel was excellent, I very much enjoyed how they portrayed the relationship of Big E and Magnus.

ghoul-a-man is my fav primarch 😏
it's quite annoying at how they get people who have 0 knowledge of the ip and throw them into lore heavy books like this story was a banger performance made it a chore to get through at times tho

Great Story, Poor Narrator.
this review is simply an echo of all the others. great story, but the Narrator was not good at all. At some points very hard to understand (although for me it wasnt that often) my biggest complaint with the narration was the lack of voice changes for characters.... for all characters to have a different voice I understand would be hard, but shouldve been present for the main as it was at times very hard to identify when the individual speaking had changed resulting in having to rewind and listen to sections sometimes multiple times so I could follow the story. the story itself was amazing, I loved it. Narration wasnt the worst I've heard, but definitely could have been better.
