Publisher's Summary
A revolutionary new approach to ADD/ADHD featuring cutting-edge research and strategies to help listeners thrive, by the best-selling authors of the seminal books Driven to Distraction and Delivered from Distraction
“An inspired road map for living with a distractible brain . . . If you or your child suffer from ADHD, this book should be on your shelf. It will give you courage and hope.” (Michael Thompson, PhD, New York Times best-selling co-author of Raising Cai)
World-renowned authors Dr. Edward M. Hallowell and Dr. John J. Ratey literally “wrote the book” on ADD/ADHD more than two decades ago. Their best seller, Driven to Distraction, largely introduced this diagnosis to the public and sold more than a million copies along the way.
Now, most people have heard of ADHD and know someone who may have it. But lost in the discussion of both childhood and adult diagnosis of ADHD is the potential upside: Many hugely successful entrepreneurs and highly creative people attribute their achievements to ADHD. Also unknown to most are the recent research developments, including innovations that give a clearer understanding of the ADHD brain in action. In ADHD 2.0, Drs. Hallowell and Ratey, both of whom have this “variable attention trait”, draw on the latest science to provide both parents and adults with ADHD a plan for minimizing the downside and maximizing the benefits of ADHD at any age. They offer an arsenal of new strategies and lifestyle hacks for thriving with ADHD, including
- Find the right kind of difficult. Use these behavior assessments to discover the work, activity, or creative outlet best suited to an individual’s unique strengths.
- Reimagine environment. What specific elements to look for - at home, at school, or in the workplace - to enhance the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit inherent in the ADHD mind.
- Embrace innate neurological tendencies. Take advantage of new findings about the brain’s default mode network and cerebellum, which confer major benefits for people with ADHD.
- Tap into the healing power of connection. Tips for establishing and maintaining positive connection “the other Vitamind C” and the best antidote to the negativity that plagues so many people with ADHD.
- Consider medication. Gets the facts about the underlying chemistry, side effects, and proven benefits of all the pharmaceutical options.
As inspiring as it is practical, ADHD 2.0 will help you tap into the power of this mercurial condition and find the key that unlocks potential.
This audiobook includes a PDF of charts and appendices from the book.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.
What the critics say
"Hallowell writes with clarity and humanity.... [ADHD 2.0] is a message of hope...a remarkably clear, personable, digestible and useful book.” (Dr. Lloyd Sederer, Psychology Today)
“Beautifully written, ADHD 2.0 is an inspired road map for living with a distractible brain. Two psychiatrists who have ADHD themselves combine the most recent brain science with humor, stories, and deep wisdom about how to manage your fluctuating attention. If you or your child suffer from ADHD, this book should be on your shelf. It will give you courage and hope.” (Michael Thompson, PhD, New York Times best-selling coauthor of Raising Cain)
“Infinitely validating, effortlessly funny, and staggeringly insightful.... This book will save lives.” (Jessica McCabe, creator/host of How to ADHD)

A "must-read"
Really really good but beware, if you're the type of person that unconsciously tend towards victimisation, be careful! it gives you a lot of tools that can be turned against yourself by putting the blame on circumstances. Own your destiny, to master your mind, you'll have to keep yourself accountable.

Reads like a robot reading Wikipedia articles.
Sharing skeptical research with a lesson on brain function, but it's more like a masters thesis and not for folks that actually want to improve their ADHD.

I found myself having AHA! moments frequently.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. There is a good mix of research reviews, personal stories and experiences. This helps me understand myself and many family, friends and coworkers a bit better. Some great stories that made me laugh and EXCELLENT verbiage to help explain ADHD to those experiencing it. I highly recommend this audiobook. I shared it with my close friends and my mom.

Wether you have ADHD or VAST or not is irrelevant. You know someone, lead, teach, live with or manage someone who does. This is a game changer. Understanding and relatable. This completely helped me understand myself and my 18 year old son who was late diagnosed with ADHD. It’s incredible. Debunk myths.

What’s with the robot voice?!
This book has so much in it that’s super beneficial, but as someone with adhd I am SO DISTRACTED by the robot voice of the person reading. I’m trying to get through this but I am only on the first chapter and already extremely annoyed. Such a bummer!
Update: I powered through (while power cleaning my house) and finished the book. I sped up the audio and overtime got used to the robot voice - still annoyed by it, however, this book has a lot of great information and I plan to listen to it again!

Really Impactful
I tried to get through another book and found I just couldn’t get through it. While the information was sound, the presentation just wasn’t appealing and the tone was off. Thankfully I found this book. The content is fantastic and really helped me to understand my brain better. I felt seen and hopeful and I’ve immediately put the suggestions into play. I recommend for adults with ADHD and especially parents. The author’s empathy and understanding shines through every word.

By Far the best of them all
Myself and my son are ADHDers. Am 35 just been diagnosed 5 months ago, I have been 4 different books(paper) so far and ADHD 2.0 is my fifth one (audiobook). In two days I finished it (7 hour’s) and will do it again but with a pen and paper breaking down each chapter because it is very very interesting and has a lot of things that make me go through emotional moments. I am learning as much as I can to take control and understand many fallback’s that I have been and still struggling to cope with.
By far this book has more critical information than any of the other books, podcasts or videos in YouTube that I have tried.
Thank you!
