Publisher's Summary

Children are not supposed to rescue their parents, life is supposed to be the other way around. And rescues aren't supposed to be needed on the trip out to the new colony planet Valhalla. Slow, yes. Boring, yes. Dangerous? No, the trip is not supposed to be dangerous, never has been.

When thieves attack the transport ship to steal an ancient alien artifact, and young Kaylee and her brother, Manny, are cut off from their parents, they have to stop the thieves from getting what they want, because once the thieves have the artifact, they're not leaving any witnesses.

Ok for YA, but not up to Alansons other books

Writing was just Meh. Characters were flat and stereotyped. I can't even blame it on being YA. I finished it, but YA books from other authors were far more compelling with much more interesting and rich characters. No interest in listening to the rest of the series...

my thoughts on the stories

I enjoy the short stories immensely they're engaging and commodity in the stories I find it very good you get the kids once you get liking listen to audiobooks. I keep telling the kids are actually educational a lot of the Bucs I collect stories for space.

Average. DNF

I picked this up because I love Craig Alanson's Expeditionary Force series so much. This is not the same. It doesn't have the humor or the interest. The narrator is decent. I'm really surprised that the average reviews are so high. Sorry, got over halfway through and did not finish.

Very entertaining 👏

Not normally my genre. The story line is predictable but very enjoyable. Well worth it

Ok

Story was ok. Predictable, but still enjoyable. I have listened to all of the Expeditionary Force books which are excellent, this must be one of the first books by Craig Alanson.
