Story
After his town is put to the sword and the children are taken to replace the fallen, an old man is out for revenge. He’s ready to fail at the most difficult challenge in the world: cultivation. Too corrupted to even take the first steps, the sly old elder simply agreed with those who told him that it was impossible. Then, he quietly ignored them, rubbed his hands together, and started anyway. He had always failed in what he did. The only thing that had never failed him was his sharp mind and philosophy. He would cultivate...no matter what it cost him.

Publisher's Summary
A whole new world. Well, the framework. Surely nothing will go wrong.
Artorian shrugged off moonfall and war like it was a gentle rain and must now face new trials. Specifically: life in the world created by the Dungeon Core, Cal. Unfortunately, Cal has only put together the most bare-bones of systems.
He's no stranger to solving near impossible problems; how difficult could it be to smooth out the slew of angry Mages with bitter rivalries, uncountable hidden secrets, a complete inability to cultivate, and a Dungeon creating messes at full speed? One way or another, it is up to Artorian to pick up the pieces. He’s ready to roll up his sleeves and administrate.
There are some very serious holes in this world, and the old academic is determined to fix them.

awesome
Absolutely wonderful! The incredible world building keeps getting better and better and is as always remarkably well displayed. The writing/prose is beautifully well done, this writing team seems to be constantly improving and just when you think theyve peaked they release another well written story. Artorian is the grandfather you always wanted yet still so mischievous and clever as a fox. His antics are hilarious and his view on the world around him and how he solves his problems thought inspiring. The sprinkling of philosophy even more so. The characters really come alive as you read these stories and are well defined, their interactions seem organic and believable. This story will keep you interested and hungry for more so dig in! I cant wait to see what is next. travis performs incredibly in this installment. his vocal range is incredible, the characters easily identified by their voice and tone. love this pairing of writers and narrator.

Engaging but felt a bit all over the place
I enjoyed this book but it didn’t really feel like there was any plot development for the characters. This kind of makes sense since they are all essentially stuck in limbo as far as the story is concerned but it felt like the book could have either been half as long or should have moved things forward more. I loved the prior books in the series, this one isn’t quite as good.

The bridge we needed.
First I will start by saying the last line made no sense to me as I thought all of Artorians loved ones were still in stasis and I thought he had come to love and mentor that group of bards. Other than that we got what we needed, we saw how etherium started and how the building blocks were made. It was entirely the right decision to introduce us to the creation of etherium through someone other than Cal or suppose now it's Cale. The story from Cales perspective would of been extraordinarily hard to write right with what we learned here and while I would love a bit more info on the early days maybe just a chapters worth per dungeon born I can see why we don't get it. Trust me if you love the divine dungeon series and the complitonist chronicles you need Artorians archive in its entirety.

an excellent introduction to Cale's soulworld.
an excellent segue into a new "branch" of the divine dungeon saga. The journey from helpless elder to this Ascended of Love has been such a delight - I've so greatly enjoyed the esoteric education that is freely shared within this high adventure. Travis Baldree's narration has once again been stellar! The vocal changes with characters is so consistent- Verrah well done! **spoiler** (kind of) the cycle of redemption arcs, the healing of broken, misunderstood minds. Zelia (sp?). I love spiders, they are a Thing in my world. When her story began in this installment I was SO SCARED that this beautiful, intelligent, and obviously loving creature would be destroyed. in a sense she was but still I am not ashamed to admit I wept when hearing her Transformation. We always have a choice. Fabulous work once again. I hope you continue to share more of this world with us. "Old man Sunny fell out of the sky..."

another wonderful story from the devine dungeon.
When I first picked up the Artorian archives I thought I wouldn't enjoy it. I was wrong. I get the itch of seeing my favorite dungeon core deal with problems and the perspectives of the inhabitants of the world. If there is any story I will hold in my heart. It will be the Devine Dungeon. How far Cal has come from being a moss nibbler to a littoral world. I am excited for everything to come.
