fun blend of sci-fi and fantasy
I loved the story of a diver discovering an underwater city of merfolk. Can't wait for the series. I enjoyed the audio of two voices--male and female--for the dialogue. However, the narration left me wishing for better quality. Some simple editing would make it much better.

FANTASTIC FANTASY !!!!!
EXCELLENT STORY. WELL WRITTEN. I LOVED IT. FUNNY THROUGH OUT. AN INTERESTING PLOT AND THEORY. I LIKE THE REFERENCE TO A CREATOR AND THE REFLECTION OF HUMAN NATURE WITH IN A FALLEN WORLD. THE WRITING SHOW'S A UNIQUE UNDERSTANDING OF THE QUESTIONS WHY AND WHAT IF? THE INFINITE POSSIBILITIES OF A COMPLEX CREATION ARE WELL-REPRESENTED HERE. THE AUTHOR SHOWS A LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING UNIQUE TO A FEW PEOPLE. MYSELF AND MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY ARE OFTEN QUESTIONING THE MYSTERIES OF THE WORLD IN ORDER TO FIND A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF CREATION AND GOD'S TRUTH IN WITH IT. SOUND EFFECTS AND DIFFERENT VOICES USED IN THE STORY HELP CREATE A UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT.

A great listen
I had previously read this story, but I really enjoyed listening to it. I liked how they used both the male and the female voices for this book to help the story go along. I enjoyed this first taste of this novella and can't wait to read the next story. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, especially Jay and his sister Noelani and the easy banter they share. It will be interesting to see how the story develops between the mermaids and the humans, and it was good for a change having the question Are humans real? Well done for a great novella, you have grabbed my interest

Mermaids, scientists and philosophy.
I have read this before, as an ebook so I already knew I would enjoy this story of a human trapped as a scientific specimen for Mer-people. I really felt for Jay's plight and can't wait to read the next installment of his story. The preformance of this audiobook was different. I liked that there was a man reading male parts and a woman reading for female. For the most part the diction was clear and easy to understand. But for the Mer-people voices they used some weird effect that made the voices sound tinny. I had to struggle harder to hear what they were saying. I think I understand what they were going for but it didn't work for my phone. I don't know if a good speaker would improve the listening quality. overall a good story and perfect for if you want something you can hear start to finish.

The sound effects were a nice touch.
This was a very fast listen at only an hour and a half. The Author sucked you in, left you wanting more. Which is the whole job of a prequel short story. To tease you, to give you a taste to see if you would enjoy the main series. Paga’s sister, geez, that lady got issues. Or should I say mermaid?

does not do the story justice
I didn't find this reading enjoyable. While I loved the novel, this audio version was not what I was expecting. His voice was grating, her voice was very gravelly, and in some areas they were very whistly. Please read the novella, you will love it. This reading does not do it justice.
