An enjoyable romp through the ever expanding world of “A Soldier’s Life”. The only weakness in this entry in the series is a roughness in the transition between the major plot arcs within the series as a whole. However, on a positive note, the final section comes through in completing one phase of the story and opening up another with a series of dramatic reveals of character decisions and their consequences.

Also! More Raelia (sp?) next time, please!

I liked this book, so far it’s my favourite in the series, however I have mixed feelings about the epilogue. I really shipped Rena and Eric and it kind of hurt to hear that Rena had a kid with Octavious, it gives off an NTR feel to me because Rena seemed so in love with Eric, but she did think Eric was dead so I can’t really fault her. I really like the romance with Raelia and I can’t wait for them to meet up in the next book and see Eric’s reaction. I’m interested to see what happens next in the Telian empire given the ending and what’s happening with the prophecy and the other other worlders from earth.
