Publisher's Summary

The Covenant mission is the most ambitious endeavor in the history of Weyland-Yutani. A ship bound for Origae-6, carrying 2,000 colonists beyond the limits of known space, this is a make-or-break investment for the corporation - and for the future of all mankind.

Yet there are those who would die to stop the mission. As the colony ship hovers in Earth orbit, several violent events reveal a deadly conspiracy to sabotage the launch. While Captain Jacob Branson and his wife, Daniels, complete their preparations, security chief Daniel Lope recruits the final key member of his team. Together they seek to stop the perpetrators before the ship and its passengers can be destroyed.

An original novel by the acclaimed Alan Dean Foster, author of the groundbreaking Alien novelization, Alien: Covenant Origins is the official chronicle of the events that led up to Alien: Covenant. It also reveals the world the colonists left behind.

No Alien

I enjoyed the story and it breathes new life into the characters in Alien Covenant.

No complaints.

Of course there is no Alien, but the backstory is great. I very much enjoyed Alien Covenant. So this prequel was a great addition to the film. The Narrator was simply amazing. He does a great job portraying characters, and does a fine job of doing different accents.

No aliens

Good if you are a real alien fan. My 2nd alien novel and I was waiting for the carnage that didn’t come

Very slow and boring

I really liked most of the alien books. However, no aliens and plot is really slow and boring.

Time line covered was just days..

Had high hopes for this, as a huge fan of Prometheus and covenant. The timeline covered in this installment is very short, the narration performance was excellent, and really save this read for me. Overall modest three out of five.

Ummmm yea. Skip this one…

The first hour I thought, “Finally! A story about a colony ship!”
Then the rest of the books takes place on earth. In conference rooms dealing with corporation policies. No joke the whole time.
No aliens.
Worst part is. You know who the villains are, and you’re waiting for the characters to catch up to what you knew from the second chapter.
One of the most pointless books added to the alien series.

Overall ok.

Well read, story ok. Prequel where not much happens. Not an essential read before Covenant, but introduces main characters.

Kept my interest all the way

Really like this and if it's indicative of the series, I'll have a great time listening. The characters are easy to imagine and not overly detailed to constrict the images. The action is a good pace too, enough to make my long drives as a long distance truck driver fly by.
