Story
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

Sylvie Rossi has the loner thing down pat, with the exception of her best friend, Grace. But when the two are trapped in a hospital during the last gasp of a dying city, alone time is no longer an option. A nurse's offer of sanctuary promises Sylvie the supplies she needs to survive the zombies - it's the coexisting with people that might do her in. Eric Forrest will do whatever it takes to get into the dead city for his sister, including ending up dead himself. He's used to taking risks, but with every mile he travels death looks likelier.

Whether romantic or platonic, changing relationships prove tricky for Rose, Tom, Clara, and Craig—never mind adapting to the new not-so-normal. Being surrounded by the undead is bad enough, but with a tyrant-in-training running their Safe Zone, it’s that much worse.

Story
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

But that is just the beginning...The wind-borne spores are spreading, disfiguring men and twisting their minds, turning them into creatures that threaten to destroy the townships.

Another Winner!
Great storyline .Excellent development of characters, just enough horror and drama without being overly graphic. I really enjoyed this whole series.Love tbe heroine and how real her personality is.Cassie is a strong woman with weaknesses that she comes to understand and work on.My only criticism is that the performer ,in my opinion, was great in changes of the female characters. However the males sounded mostly the same. Were it not for the dialogue I would think Peter,Adrian and Daniel were the same person.Didnt stop me from loving her voice and her overall performance!

Perfect! Just perfect story line!
I’ve listened to all the series by this author and I have enjoyed all of them. Yes a zombie apocalypse would be awful but the survivors do need to go on, need to love, think meaninglessness thoughts, worry about every day things. Survival isn’t just good but it’s also making the abnormal normal.
