Read it - don’t listen

This narrator is truly awful. I had to return the title. After 5 hours I could not take anymore and still hadn’t gotten to the actual strategy. Fortunately there are other great quit lit titles out there. I strongly recommend Alcohol Explained, This Naked Mind, and The Unexpected Joys of Being Sober.

Definitely worth listening!

I read the reviews before and people were complaining about the narrator's voice and honesty that's ridiculous. If you truly want to stop drinking read or listen to this book! I was a little more than halfway through when I had the powerful and exciting feeling that I would never drink again, but still listened to the entire book to make sure I killed all the mosters! Good luck everyone and thank you Allen for an amazing book!

Almost unlistenable

I really wanted the information in this book but found the narrator to irritating. For some reason, I was not allowed to return the book.

The narrator made me want to drink

Content is good. The narrator is the very worst I’ve heard and makes it unlistenable. It’s like they asked Siri to read the book.

A good book for the right personality

Allen Carr book is a great book for those persons in the right mind set, willing to have and open mind and open to the idea of actually quitting.
The entire book is repetitive, the same bacic 8 or 9 principles repeated in different ways almost to the point of nauseum, but there in is the point to set those ideas in your brain as to change your thought patterns about drinking, and then there is a 20 min or so, relaxation meditation (self hypnosis) as a solidifier at the end.
I however believe that this book will not work yet on someone who is not ready to accept the open mind theory and still strugels with the demons that cause some people to drink.
This method relys on two main factors : That you are ready to quit, and the thought of being a nondrinker for the res of your life is good with you.
Did this book work for me?? absolutely did I want to quit about half way through because of its monotonous repetitive text?? you bet. But I stuck with it, and even revisit the self hypnosis section every couple of weeks.
Tbe rest is up to you to change the habbits that made/ kept you a drinker for so long.

Book is great but the narration...

I think the book has great core points and information but the narration really doesn't work for me. Just sound so robotic and strange.
