It was refreshing to read an autobiography told with such honesty. I've always admired Rob but I made some assumptions about who he was. His polish made me conclude he grew up in upper middle class privilege. Not so. Rob is a self-made man who came from a home with a lot of challenges. He joined the army for the chance to go to college. He entered as an out-of-shape teenager who struggled to keep up. On the verge of giving up, a hard-ass drill sergeant pulled him aside and incentivized that near-defeated teenager to come back fighting and reveal the man waiting to be born. An inspiring book..
