Publisher's Summary

I've been many things.

I've been a son and a stepbrother. An army captain and a vice president.

But only with him am I a prince. His little prince.

Only with Maxen and Greer does my world make sense, only between them can I find peace from the demons that haunt me. But men like me aren't made to be happy. We don't deserve it. And I should have known a love as sharp as ours could cut both ways.

My name is Embry Moore, and I serve at the pleasure of the president of the United States...for now.

This is the story of an American prince.

Contains mature themes.

Spoilers.

This book was so so so frustrating for me! Don’t get me wrong I couldn’t put the thing down. But omg did I want to chuck my phone across the room multiple times listening to it.

First off I’ve never been a fan of a kidnapping plot line, so when Greer’s taken it really bugged me. However she is found fairly quickly and, for the most part unharmed, save for some sexual harassment.

What realllly boiled my blood though was fucking Abilene. That psycho bitch made me want to kill someone! She was a complete tyrant, and the awful and disgusting and despicable things she did to Embry infuriated me to no end. What upset me even more was the way she gets away w straight up r*ping him, and it’s pretty much just brushed aside. Embry deserved so so much more. He was basically a martyr the entire book, putting everyone else above himself, and what did he get in the end..? Heartache and blame for things that weren’t even his doing.

There better be one hell of a HEA in book 3 bc as of rn I’m livid w how this book has gone and the turn it took towards the end.

Overall 4/5 stars. Bc I’m a straight up masochist when it comes to books like this apparently 🥲

I prefer book 1 over book two, to much war for me

Their relationship has become even more complex and beautiful but sad.

Just as they are all back together they are pulled apart possibly forever heartbreakingly.

I enjoy learning more of the backstory but there’s so much war scenes and fighting I cringe at those parts and when they bring up god & sin I feel like religion didn’t belong in this series.

The cousin who I thought couldn’t get any wore did and it’s so frustrating that they didn’t do more to stop her. *trigger warning the drugging and rape she preforms is so disturbing*

This entire book you learn how much our little princess has given up and sacrifices throughout his life for others, my heart breaks for him and makes me just want to hold him

Love

Omg the ending…wtf 😩 I need to go to book 3 asap!! Love it but it does mention the war a lot. I know it’s because they tell the story about the past but still…

Amazing book, poor narration

I honestly feel the make narrotor in this book was such a poor choice. It was painful to listen to at times. I was invested in the story and loved the first book but I powered through. It became tolerable once you got used to it but the voice just doesn't match the characters. Great book, great story just a difficult listen at times

Male Narrator is Horrible

Male narrator is the worst. His cadence and delivery is cringe worthy. Can’t continue listening.

Speechless

The voices on this book were terrible! Why does Merlin’s accent go from American in the first book, to English?!?!
