About this listen

This talk is very general, and is relevant to all sorts of addictions. As a recovery speaker, Bob Earll was sort of a Swiss Army knife. His message fit Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as Adult Children of Alcoholics. Though an Alcoholic, the drug addiction part of his alcoholism enabled him to speak to Narcotics Anonymous. This talk is at a Cocaine Anonymous event, and his opiate use would have qualified him to speak to Heroin Anonymous.

The book, Alcoholics Anonymous, suggests Fears Inventory as part of a written Fouth Step. In this talk, he points out the central role of fear shown as anxiety in all forms of alcoholism and addiction. The nature of fear; how it becomes part of us in childhood and develops into part of our addict personalities. A master storyteller, he puts all of this in his own story and the stories he tells of his experiences. This is an exciting, and in places, funny talk by popular recovery speaker Bob Earll.
