The most terrible narration I’ve heard

This narration sounds as though it is computer generated. The voice was mechanical, unmeasured, and inflection-less. Just awful. I am so disappointed to have wasted my money on this audio book.

Can't stand the narrator

American accent a mild detraction, but the frequent mispronunciation of words was a deal breaker. Which is a pity, because I really like this book.

A true classic

Ever since I saw the movie I knew I had to read the book. I was not disappointed. While the movie was exceptional, the book was better. I just loved the characters and the narrator enjoyed himself too. This book is a true classic in every since of the word.

Inadvertent Comedy

We listened with the kids on a road trip. Classic, enjoyable story for the family. However, as others have noted, the performance leaves a lot to be desired. He must narrate movie trailers, as that's exactly how this book is delivered. The tone and cadence are especially awkward for a Victorian novel. And the many mispronunciations throughout eventually had us laughing out loud. I downloaded this because it was so cheap. Don't make the same mistake.

This man should never read aloud!

He pauses after every sentence and with earphones it is extremely annoying. You can hear him inhale and smack his lips. There is even a crackling sound in the recording that forced me to stop listening after only a few minutes. This was a total waste of money and time for the download.

Great story,slightly monotoned narration.

I love this book and would definitely listen to this again but when the narrator describes the places as they travel the globe it's a little hard to picture the way he tells it.

So good!

I have been on a mission to read the "classics", but lost of the time I find them to be a bit of a snooze-fest. So I didn't have especially have high hopes of enjoying this book, especially since I didn't believe the story itself to be my cup of tea, but it was only forty-seven cents, so I thought 'What the hell'. I'm so happy to say I was very wrong! This book was very enjoyable! I found myself cheering on Mr. Fogg and Passepartout, and cursing Det. Fix (me talking out loud to myself in my car: "C'mon, you can do it!", "Hurry", "Freakin Fix!", and many other things).
And Michael Scott is my favorite narrator so far! This was a great read (err... listen).

Engaging

This book is exceedingly enjoyable, it permits one the sense of being an observant passenger in the continuous obstacles that must be traversed and overcome.
