Story
Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet - which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together - if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow.

Story
So...you'd think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark's life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions.

Story
With more than 12 million books in print, rights sold in almost 40 countries, and over two years on The New York Times bestseller list, the House of Night series is an international publishing sensation. Now, the excitement continues as the Cast mother-daughter duo shares the back stories of a few of the House of Night's most important - and mysterious - characters. In the third House of Night novella, Neferet's Curse, the secret history we've all been waiting for is finally revealed....
Publisher's Summary
“My love, speak to me. Tell me everything.” Neferet went to Kalona, kneeling before him, stroking the soft, dark wings that unfurled loosely around the immortal. “What would you have me say?” He didn’t meet her eyes. “Zoey lives.” Neferet’s voice was flat, cold, lifeless.
“She does.”
“Then you owe me the subservience of your immortal soul.” She started to walk away from him.
“Where are you going? What will happen next?”
“It is quite simple. I will ensure Zoey is drawn back to Oklahoma. There, on my own terms, I will complete the task you failed.”
Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of high priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa?
After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same - and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either.... And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?
In the pulse-pounding eighth audiobook in the best-selling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch, and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?

Lost in just words
Unfortunately, this book never really developed. Way too much time devoted to the mundane... going to bed, waking up, mourning her losses, alot of "shoulda, coulda, wouldas" in this book which led into alot of nothingness and very little storyline since the last book, there seemed to be so much details and information in the first 3-4 books, now it seems she"s just writing to fill pages.
To me, in this book there was only 2 important points in the whole book, and the rest was just filler. I love this series I love the writer, but I was trully disappointed in the lack of substance the book carried..

Good but a little cheesy in parts.
I have follower the series from the beginning and enjoyed each one, however I am not sure if it was the book or the way it was read but the first 1hr 45min were kind of cheesy. But once I got past that first part it was a good book. I was interested the whole time. GOOD WORK P. C. and Kristin Cast! I am getting to the point that I am starting to loose interest in seeing Zoe get the emotional crap kicked out of her over and over and over again. SHE NEEDS A HAPPY ENDING!

So glad Caitlin Davies is back!
House of Night is a fantastic series and I was upset to gear Caitlin Davies not narrate the past some book. I'm really glad she is back for the rest of the series because she does really well with narration. Her voices for the characters are pretty distinct and they fit my ideal voice for majority of the characters!

Awakened PC Cast + Kristin Cast
Would you listen to Awakened again? Why?
I have purchased the Hard Back for Awakened, after reading the series on my Kindle and now I have purchased the entire collection through book 11 thus far. I LOVE to read PC Cast and Kristin Cast!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Awakened?
When Stevie Rae tells Kalona she loves Rephaim and Rephaim tells Stevie Rae he loves her. Kalona releases him and Nyx return Rephaim to a boy for part of a day...
What does Caitlin Davies bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I purchased Audible because when reading it myself I don't pronounce the words the same and I can follow easier listening to the audible reader.
.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
After reading Awakened I had to purchase Burned right away...
Any additional comments?
Waiting on REDEEMED! The final novel in the HoN series...OCTOBER 2014
I'm a little Sad it's gonna be over, I'm also eager to know who wins... Light or Darkness...

Almost
I anxiously awaited this installment and felt it left me hanging just a bit too much. I didn't get enough of Aphrodite and Darius this time. The return of Neferet was a little too easy, and are Zoe and Stark just a little too oblivious of Kolona's possession? Of course, this won't keep me from watching the calendar for November's installment. I enjoyed it, just felt the answers to many things were very pat. Of course, I am a grown up reading young adult fiction-if I wanted reality I should have tried a different genre.
If you liked the others, you will enjoy this one, too. Just not much intrigue.
