Story
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Story
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

Great story but ended to quickly!!!
It felt as if the author intended to write a four book series about the war but by the end of book two found it tedious and ended everything at book 3. A lot of the expectations and set up in the first two books were trashed leaving me at least, wanting more out of the story. I couldn’t complaint about anything else though.

Fantasy trilogy firs
I liked the story. This is not Science Fiction (It is ridiculous that Science Fiction and Fantasy are categorized together, they really need to be separated). And don’t worry, Craig Allison can write different genres as other authors do.
So this is a Fantasy trilogy. The first book, as you expected, is the introductions, it sets the time as medieval with wizards, spells, magic, knights and a princess, and portals opening with the threat of demons from another universe. The narrator is fine and he warms up to the material by the 5th chapter.

Good but not great
I loved the first two books of this series but the ending left something to be desired. Everything happened very quickly so much so that I found myself thinking “Wait that’s it? It’s over?”. I still loved the characters and world building however the depiction of the enemy and demon I believe should have been more fear invoking. The performance itself was very good apart from the times when you can hear the audio change where things must have been edited. Overall it’s a decent ending to an amazing series . I thoroughly enjoyed this series and if you’re looking for an easy teen fantasy listen this is for you.

the last half of the book super predictable it feels like he ran out of time and just went for the easy ending full of standard tropes. the series was so good and it ended with him writing one of the most tragic stories ever.

This was one of my first audio book series. Quite captivating. I had difficulty 'setting it down.' Lots is fun. Good twists and turns. A few too many 'Ums.' The reading was very good. Perhaps especially suited to a young teenage audience? Thank you.

Great ending to a soketimed frustrating series.
Loved all three books. But have to admit that I was really frustrated with the progression of the first two books. Im glad that the issues with how Koren wad treated have been answered and handled best they cab with the third book. Now i almost wish for a fourth book or more just to have more in this universe.
