Story
Boy George's compelling storytelling shines a light on his encounters with legendary figures like David Bowie, Prince, and Madonna, providing an intimate peek into the music industry's glittering world. Humor, sarcasm, and signature style are brought to this explosive and honest account of Boy George's life as a child growing up in sixties London and coming out to his Irish Catholic family. Hear his account of his exploration of his sexuality through the hedonism of the seventies (the glam rock and punk rock revolution that birthed Culture Club) and his ultimately embracing who he is today.

In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her. Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy’s favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality.

Story
Dame Sue Black is an internationally renowned forensic anthropologist and human anatomist. She has lived her life eye to eye with the Grim Reaper, and she writes vividly about it in this book, which is part primer on the basics of identifying human remains, part frank memoir of a woman whose first paying job as a schoolgirl was to apprentice in a butcher shop, and part no-nonsense but deeply humane introduction to the reality of death in our lives. It is a treat for CSI junkies, murder mystery and thriller fans, and anyone seeking a clear-eyed guide to a subject that touches us all.

Story
In a strange world where she was continually on display, stardom soon became a personal nightmare of constant exposure and sexualization. Rose escaped into the world of her mind, something she had done as a child, and into high-profile relationships. Every detail of her personal life became public, and the realities of an inherently sexist industry emerged with every script, role, public appearance, and magazine cover. The Hollywood machine packaged her as a sexualized bombshell, hijacking her image and identity and marketing them for profit.

Story
As lead singer and songwriter for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis has lived life on the razor's edge. Much has been written about him, but until now we've only had his songs as clues to his experience from the inside. In Scar Tissue, Kiedis proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving us a searingly honest account of the life from which his music has evolved.

Mind blown
I didn't really follow the Spice Girls in the 90s but I got to know Mel B from watching AGT. Then all the tabloids about her being abused and I recall thinking "she seems to together". This book came up as a Deal of the Day and I figured I give it a shot.
It's amazing what a work ethic can do for you. What happened in front of cameras vs behind her closed doors is nothing short of amazing how she made it through with a sound mind.
I finished this book with a great deal of respect for Mel B and admire her strength to (Girl) Power on. Would recommend.

Not a fun read; incredibly upsetting.
The fact that the words are "too raw" to be read by Mel B herself are a strong hint to the reader/listener that they are not going to have a fun, light-hearted time. "Brutally Honest" is a fitting title for Melanie Brown's autobiography. In it, she talks about the toxic and abusive relationships she has been in and tries to identify the patterns in her past traumas. It is gut-wrenching.

OMG!!!
I couldn’t put this away until I finished it. This is a must read for women and men of all ages. If we can get our teens, young adults and adults to read this so they are able to spot the warning signs it may just be the thing that saves them.
This book touched me on so many levels that not only do I want my own hard copy, I want to buy it for the ones in my life who, like me, struggle with what has been revealed in this book. God Bless you Melanie Brown!!
