Publisher's Summary

Debuted and currently #4 on the New York Times audio bestseller list!

Fifty-something David Spade is letting it all hang out. Older (yes), wiser (debatable), in A Polaroid Guy in a Snapchat World, the actor, comedian, and SNL alum reflects on his life then and now through a series of candid and hysterical (and occasionally cringe-worthy) takes on everything from why it’s getting harder to date younger women, to what it’s like being a dad now, to suddenly being the “old guy” on set.

Whether he’s musing on the alarming ease of breaking up over text (he’s done it), feuding with a teenage Internet celebrity (spoiler alert, he lost), or dealing with the friend from high school who became his full-time plus-one, when the star of Joe Dirt and Just Shoot Me unleashes his biting wit and dirty mind on the general freakiness of middle-age, he’s in a league of his own (not to be confused with A League of Their Own).

Written and performed for the Audible experience, Spade’s new comic memoir takes listeners along for the sometimes embarrassing and always hilarious ride of getting older in our fleeting “Snapchat World”.

A tight 5 done in 6 hours

Comedians have a thing called a tight 5. It is 5 minutes of good solid material. That's what this is but over 6 hours.

I like David Spade. I liked him in Just Shoot Me, Rules of Engagement, even his late night talk show was ok.

I guess this book wasn't really for me. I had to Google TMZ. I don't care about celebrity gossip and famous people who are famous for being famous bore the crap out of me. They all have boring lives and piss ant concerns like what parties they get invited to. I was expecting more of a comedy special.

I can summarize the whole book for you

I was in Joe Dirt
I am rich
I think TMZ is important for some reason.
I think Adam Sandler is an important famous person and I know him
You get it, you get it, you get it you get it
I date lots of woman but I am not nearly as bad of a sleaze bag as you think, even though I am 100 and talk about dating 20 year olds.
I was in Joe Dirt

laugh outloud

It was laugh outloud funny in so many places and it's great to hear how much he loves what he does. Love how relatable it was.

funny

I listened to the preview for this book, and I didn't even finish the preview before purchasing. I did however buy it on sale, but I would 100% pay full price. I absolutely loved listening to this. David spade is hilarious and the fact that he narrated it is even better.

Not for me

I enjoyed David Spade in Just Shoot Me, but I have now heard way too much about his penis. This sounds like a book about sex addiction and celebrity. After listening to Trevor Noah, and Kevin Hart's books--both funny and inspiring, this was quite the let down. At least he can laugh at himself-- I appreciated that.

David Spade is hilarious

I enjoyed this book! Good entertainment for 6 hours, I usually listen to more serious books, this made for a great change of pace. I listened to it all in one sitting.

Loved It

David Spade is not for everyone, but those that appreciate his special brand of sarcastic humour will love this book. Unlike scripted audiobooks, Spade spins tales like he's having a conversation over a beer. It makes for a relaxing, sometimes hilarious listen.

Hilar as usual

Pretty sure I listened the whole way through. He's been one of my faves since SNL and he just gets more funny. I relate to everything he says and realized I use some of the same dumb sayings as he does ..... David ... we're basically soulmates blah blah blah .. I'll wait for your call. lolz
