Story
In this final master-work of The Rational Male series, Rollo Tomassi breaks down the fundamental mechanics of Game, intersexual social skills, and the nuts and bolts psychology that makes it work. The Players Handbook is not a "how-to" book, it's a "why-it-works" book. It’s not an instruction manual—it is the missing textbook on Game and understanding intersexual dynamics. Game is an adaptive set of social skills and best practices in navigating intersexual dynamics in a modern sexual marketplace.

Publisher's Summary
From the author of the blockbuster best seller The Game: a shockingly personal, surprisingly relatable, brutally honest memoir in which the celebrated dating expert confronts the greatest challenge he has ever faced: monogamy and fidelity.
Neil Strauss became famous to millions around the world as the author of The Game, a funny and slyly instructive account of how he transformed himself from a scrawny, insecure nerd into the ultraconfident, ultrasuccessful "pickup artist" known as Style. The book jump-started the international "seduction community" and made Strauss a household name - revered or notorious - among single men and women alike.
But the experience of writing The Game also transformed Strauss into a man who could have what every man wants: the ability to date - and/or have casual sex with - almost every woman he met. The results were heady, to be sure. But they also conditioned him to view the world as a kind of constant parade of women, sex, and opportunity - with intimacy and long-term commitment taking a backseat.
That is until he met the woman who forced him to choose between herself and the parade. The choice was not only difficult, it was wrenching. It forced him deep into his past, to confront not only the moral dimensions of his pickup lifestyle but also a wrenching mystery in his childhood that shaped the man he became. It sent him into extremes of behavior that exposed just how conflicted his life had become. And it made him question everything he knew about himself, and about the way men and women live with and without each other.
He would never be the same again.
Searingly honest, compulsively listenable, this new book may have the same effect on you.

neil strauss still needs therapy
an entertaining read, but the narrator is so blind to his own problems that it is hard to listen to at times. you'd think that if every single one of the women that you have slept with has had a SERIOUSLY traumatic relationship with her father, you'd reflect on yourself. apparently not so. basically, you listen as Neil has sex with an endless stream of women who's fathers have abandoned, abused, molested, raped, or attempted to murder them. i can't believe he managed to go through a year of therapy without this ever occurring to anyone.
the writing is often cheesy, clearly at least in part fictional, and slightly divorced from reality.
that said, i had an OK time listening to a "pickup artist" finally realize he's got issues.

Thought the book would end 4 hours in, I was wrong
This was a fascinating book and made me rethink some of the things that happen in my childhood. However, when I first listened to the book, about 4 hours in (25% into the book), I thought the story was coming to the end and the lesson was learned (and I would have been happy with it ending there). Boy was I wrong! The book just kept getting better and better. #Audible1

Honest and Narcisstic
Man i dont know about this one. Well written, vunerable and at the same time very off putting. Author exposes his parents skeletons without their permission. I get doing that in therapy but in such a public way is pretty gross. The book will help some get help I would guess but the cost is too high. It shows the authors lack of regard for his parents feelings which he shows us should be secondary to the truth. Ok, but do it privatly. Write the book, let them read it but I would not publish it. To not give them a choice and just publish it is very selfish in my personal opinion.

Insufferable
Though I found The Game quite entertaining, this follow up about the author’s stint into rehab for sex addiction wasn’t tantalizing nor enjoyable. I felt claustrophobic throughout the entire book and couldn’t wait for the silly ride to be over.
