Publisher's Summary

Set in the same world as the New York Times best-selling Jane Yellowrock novels, an all-new series starring Nell Ingram, who wields powers as old as the earth.

When Nell Ingram met skinwalker Jane Yellowrock, she was almost alone in the world, exiled by both choice and fear from the cult she was raised in, defending herself with the magic she drew from her deep connection to the forest that surrounds her.

Now, Jane has referred Nell to PsyLED, a Homeland Security agency policing paranormals, and agent Rick LaFleur has shown up at Nell's doorstep. His appearance forces her out of her isolated life into an investigation that leads to the vampire Blood Master of Nashville.

Nell has a team - and a mission. But to find the Master's kidnapped vassal, Nell and the PsyLED team will be forced to go deep into the heart of the very cult Nell fears, infiltrating the cult and a humans-only terrorist group before time runs out....

Why in the name of all that's holy does the reader

Why in the name of all that's holy does the reader choose to pronounce PEA as pee-ya? It's called pea (PEE) because it's green. Like a pea (PEE) . Like the thing you eat.

Very cool book a must read

A wonderful story with unique characters, and completely new ideas, unseen in urban fantasy books. Every series Faith Hunter writes is somehow better than the ones that preceded it. I absolutely adore Nell, her inner strength is amazing even after growing up in a cult. all books written by Faith Hunter or I must read in this series gets better with every book. I can't wait to reread them all .

if you're looking for a new interesting series or Author to read. Look no further everyone should read these books.

good story, just a bit wordy and slow

Very interesting story and examination of a polygamist cult -good and bad- and the young woman raised in it.
I loved the forest magic as well. I found it a bit slow and it went into exhaustive detail of the the woods and her connection to them, so that could definitely have been trimmed down significantly. Nonetheless I enjoyed the character's growth and the worlds she straddled.
great narration of various voices.

Fantastic start to a series

This is the first book I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. The reader of this series was enjoyable and I will probably be looking for more books narrated by her.
