Publisher's Summary
An ancient highlander who’s never been allowed to love. A modern woman who keeps men at arm’s length. Can their passion overcome their pasts?
Althea Jarden’s botanical fieldwork keeps her happily busy, but it has kept her from relationships as well - by design. Because deep passions can overwhelm her, she concluded long ago that a conventional life was not for her. She’s learned to depend on herself. But all the self-reliance in the world can’t prepare her for being taken to ancient Scotland and what she finds there.
Chieftain Brennus Skaraven would like nothing better than to remain dead, his legendary clan buried and forgotten. Anything would be preferable to suffering the manipulations of the druids. But when a strange lass comes crashing into his life, he discovers more than a reason to live. He finds the one thing that had always been denied to him and his kind - love.
Brennus is the first book in the Immortal Highlander Clan Skaraven series. If you love hard-bodied heroes, a mythic world, and a brave heroine, then you’ll love this sizzling series. Join the romantic realm of the Immortal Highlanders bygetting this today. Mature readers comfortable with dark themes only please.

Won't let me post a bad review!
Story hard to get into. Narration stilted & over done. Excessive violence... rude crude sex scenes... the whole thing lacked character & true heart! And then an abrupt & unfulfilling ending. I'm sorry I wasted a credit on this trash! Disappointing

Had me hooked from the start
This audiobook had me hooked from the start! It is intriguing and enthralling with time travel, mystery, danger, magic, romance, and passion. Ms. Hunter is pretty much the only author who can really engage me with her time travel romances, mostly because they are so much more than love stories. There is always some mystery, magic, and adventure that makes it more than a simple tale of love and passion, although there is always plenty of that, too!
The narration is wonderful. I love the accents and the delivery. Mr. Macleod really brings the characters to life.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Great Book!
Althea went to Scotland to study the plants. Brennus, and his men are brought back to life. Brennus and Aithea have a rough start in their relationship. Althea escapes him, to assist the other women. The Druids, and the giants have captured the women.. These women are Druids, and their captors want to use their powers. This book is full of suspense, action, and passion. The narrator did a fantastic job of voicing the characters. His voice is wonderful in his dictation, and character. You need to read this book!

OMG what an amazing story
This is a new series and it's amazing I got pulled in fast and I never wanted it to end! It's epic
Althea is a women from our time she may look like Scottish with her red hair but as soon as she spoke everyone. They knew where was American in front of them. She is a field botanist and came to Scotland to study the plants for meds.
Murdian and Hendry are both evil druids. They were made immoral so they could not be reborn into another body as all the other druids do. They were cursed then they were imprisoned in the storr by Bhaltair Flen a Drud. Only after 1000s of years they got freed. After that they freed their evil army, to open the druid passage home they Kidnapped 5 women with druid blood to take them all back in time
Chieftain Brennus of the clan skaraven and his men have been brought back to life again. And what an interesting group of men! Can't tell more it will give stuff away but wow.
Fantastic story amazing action full of mystery, intrigue, suspense, betrayal, and so much more it is mind blowing. I love the characters so easy to connect to and fall in love with! I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book in the series. If you love scots, time travel, amazing twists and turns then this is your new favorite story.

Love it!
I love how the narrator of this series brings these characters to life. Brennus is probably one of my favorite books in this series and the narrator brought him to life perfectly. You feel everything the characters feel and experience what they experience and I love being able to do that. I cannot wait to listen to the next book in the series!

I finished, but wished I hadn't.
Time travel romances are my favorite genre. This one was hard to follow. I wish the author had spent more time developing the relationship between the protagonists. I did not feel any of the characters were fully developed. Enough to care about them. I'm glad it's over and will not be listening to anymore books in this series.

Can't even get into the book.....
I'm an avid reader of all books but particularity love time travel novels that hit on my love for historical Scotland. This book, sadly, is simply horrible. I just could not get emersed into whatever this author was attempting to do here. Characters weren't particularly enjoyable let alone likeable. Storyline was just off. Did not enjoy the book and hate that I wasted one of my audible credit on this junk.

Highlander
Ms Hunter is the one author to get people interested in reading this genre. The wait for Brennus's
book to come out was well worth it. There are emotional times but there were some funny moments.
Althea Jarden, a botanist doctor was gathering samples of ferns to find a cure for a disease that killed her Uncle. During her field work, she was kidnapped along with 4 other women by Murdian and Hendry the evil druids and their giants. Chieftain Brennus Skaraven and his clan died in a battle but they were resurrected by Balthair Flen to fight evil druids and the giants. They were strongest warrior clans and now they are also immortal.
Althea with the help of the other women escaped to get help but along the way she was captured. Brennus came to her aid and fought the giants.
Brennus and others from the clan have never been emotionally or physically close to a woman and now they are seeking sexual release. Althea has always shied from relationships but after meeting Brennus she thought he may be able to change her mind. Althea convinced Brennus and his clan to save the other women and during the fight, she was captured again. By the time Brennus got there, it was too late.
I highly recommend this book to a few of my friends that I know like this gene, I can hardly wait for Cadeyrn's story.
William Macleod as the narrator for these stories has been the ultimate choice. He just brings these stories alive.
