Publisher's Summary

Stop living paycheck to paycheck and get your financial life together (#GYFLT)! If you're a cash-strapped 20- or 30-something, it's easy to get freaked out by finances. But you're not doomed to spend your life drowning in debt or mystified by money. It's time to stop scraping by and take control of your money and your life with this savvy and smart guide.

Broke Millennial shows step by step how to go from flat broke to financial badass. Unlike most personal finance books out there, it doesn't just cover boring stuff like credit card debt, investing, and dealing with the dreaded B word (budgeting). Financial expert Erin Lowry goes beyond the basics to tackle tricky money matters and situations most of us face #IRL, including:

  • Understanding your relationship with moolah: Do you treat it like a Tinder date or marriage material?
  • Managing student loans without having a full-on panic attack
  • What to do when you're out with your crew and can't afford to split the bill evenly
  • How to get "financially naked" with your partner and find out his or her "number" (debt number, of course)
  • And much more

Packed with refreshingly simple advice and hilarious true stories, Broke Millennial is the essential road map every financially clueless millennial needs to become a money master. So what are you waiting for? Let's #GYFLT!

you should read this even if you have no debt

I don't struggle with debt anymore but for a young person this book provided new insights that I hadn't considered previously even though I considered myself more educated than most people when it comes to finance

Great for young adults looking to change their money habits!

I really enjoyed this book. I’m a new grad and actively searching for my first full time job in my field. I’m at the point in my life where money and investing are very important parts of my current and future life. I found this book really helpful in giving an overview of mistakes to avoid and advice for future investments. I highly recommend giving it a read if you are in the same boat as me!

New Year, New Me

Read this book as a part of my new year resolution to live a better life. I am not financially savvy, and this book provided a great introductory crash course into the world of banking and finance. The inspirational stories of financial success sprinkled throughout the book motivated me to create a budget, change some of my financial products, and save a bit of money - so it worked! Would not recommend if you are already good with the green stuff, as this is fairly basic information. Yet, this book would be a helpful read for a couple (to get on the same page) or someone planning for retirement at a young age.

Note: This is an American book, so some information is not applicable to Canadians!

Not a good book

Author is very full of herself. Lots of self praising and bragging. condescending tone. Couldn’t continue listening to her after awhile.

All I can say is AMAZING!!

This is not a paid review , I have no idea how those even work , but I know when I read reviews sometimes they seem un-authentic . I’m just letting you know this is not that . This is a real review from a real person that has really paid for and listened to this book. Guaranteed if you apply what you learn in this book you’ll make back what you spent 100xs over. As a broke millennial myself I used to struggle with direction and managing my finances. Not that I was irresponsible, I just genuinely lacked the knowledge of what I’m supposed to be doing with all the money I make . This book helped me raise my credit score , take full advantage of all of my retirement options , set myself up for success in the future, automate my accounts , build my savings and soooo much more . Not only do I recommend you listen to this book but I recommend you pass it on to another fellow broke millennial , this is the kind of knowledge that should be spread at a fast pace .

A really great, detailed, easy to understand book

I really enjoyed reading this book. There was a perfect balance between detailed information and tips on finance as well as millennial humor. Neither aspect overshadowed the other. This book will definitely help me. I plan on gifting it to everyone. Thank you!
