Publisher's Summary

Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very lives we wish we were living. But it doesn't have to be this way.

In The More of Less, Joshua Becker helps you:

  • Recognize the life-giving benefits of owning less
  • Realize how all the stuff you own is keeping you from pursuing your dreams
  • Craft a personal, practical approach to decluttering your home and life
  • Experience the joys of generosity
  • Learn why the best part of minimalism isn't a clean house; it's a full life

It's time to own your possessions instead of letting them own you. After all, the beauty of minimalism isn't in what it takes away. It's in what it gives.

great info, too many bible stories

really great info, wish it has stuck to the decluttering theme without the biblical stories

Inspiring!

Joshua Becker’s message is very timely. His take on minimalism is generous and other-directed, a revelation in our narcissistic world. I am on board!!

Basic tips

This is great book if you are new to minimalism. However, for someone who already has a lot of minimalist habits, you won’t learn much. Still an enjoyable listen though! For me, I would have preferred a lot fewer references to god and faith, but those are key elements of the author’s life.

A great approach to minimalism.

This is a great listen for people looking to take-on living a less materialistic life by reducing their possessions and purchasing more intentionally. It’s a different lens than Marie Kondo and The Minimalists, which is great because as with any subject it’s great to learn from more than one expert. Joshua discusses taking on minimalism as a family as well as how to incorporate it into your life when your spouse and/or children aren’t quite on board.

This was great. I listened through twice, and it was well worth the credit spent

New skills

Great book. I like listening to Joshua read his book, his voice, his inflection. He had new life skills for me as well as the minimalist views. Thank you.

Great message.

The only thing that I found a bit off-putting was the Christian tilt, but the author was up front about that at the beginning and it didn’t take too much away from the great overall message: the importance of owning less to buy back your space, freedom and your mental health.

Great Listen

Loved this book, listened to it after the Minimalist Home. I put it on while I'm going through my stuff and it aids me as I declutter. Also enjoy the upstanding/common sense approach to life.
