Publisher's Summary
Callsign: King - The Brainstorm Trilogy is a complete collection of three novellas featuring Jack Sigler, aka, King, the lead hero in Jeremy Robinson's Chess Team.
CALLSIGN: KING - Book 1
The fabled Elephant Graveyard has been discovered. It contains enough ivory to make Ethiopia a wealthy nation. But the cave contains more than physical riches - it also holds the means to control the world. Fifteen scientists enter the cave. Only one leaves.
Jack Sigler, Callsign: King (field leader of the covert, black ops Chess Team) receives a cryptic text from Sara Fogg, his girlfriend and CDC "disease detective". A catastrophic disease has been reported in Ethiopia’s Great Rift Valley, but Fogg suspects something more is going on. Her suspicion is confirmed when King's arrival in Africa is met by a high speed assassination attempt.
As King fights against two competing, high-tech mercenary forces, each struggling for control of the deadly discovery, Fogg disappears. Working with the surviving member of the science team that made the discovery, King begins a search for Fogg and the source of the potential plague that takes him back to the Great Rift Valley, back to the Elephant Graveyard, and brings him face-to-face with modern man's origins.
CALLSIGN: KING - Book 2 - UNDERWORLD
Strange things have always happened in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona... Bizarre lights, reports of cave entrances that appear and then vanish, hundreds of mysterious disappearances... and rumors of monstrous creatures that inhabit a labyrinthine underworld.
When a terrifying accident on an Arizona highway leads to a military exclusion zone and a cover-up of staggering proportions, Jack Sigler - Callsign: King, field leader of the elite and ultra-secret covert Chess Team - joined by his closest friend, archaeologist George Pierce, sets out into the desert, intent on discovering the truth.
Assisted by a beautiful paranormal investigator, dogged by soldiers intent on preserving the quarantine, and pursued by a relentless legendary hitman, King soon finds himself in a race against time to prevent all out war with the creatures that inhabit the underworld.
CALLSIGN: KING - Book 3 - BLACKOUT
Twice before, Jack Sigler - Callsign: King - has stopped the mysterious 'Brainstorm' from destroying all life on earth. Twice before, he's survived Brainstorm's assassins. So when the mastermind behind Brainstorm surfaces in Paris, King goes on the offensive.
As the final showdown unfolds in the legendary City of Lights, the villain's scheme to plunge the world into literal darkness is revealed. But even Brainstorm isn't ready for the destructive force that has been unleashed…an entity of darkness imprisoned for more than a thousand years, set free now to devour... everything.
The blackout has begun... When the sun rises, the world will end.

Exciting listen
I’ve been going through the entire Chess Team/Jack Sigler series. Overall it’s enjoyable. I can’t help but feel a bit of deus ex machina going on sometimes in these 3 novellas. There are certain words that I think the author uses too much and while they convey the appropriate meaning, I’d like to see some variety. Perhaps it’s just because most of my recent listens (18+ books) have all been from Jeremy Robinson so I’m starting to pick up on habits. Examples include: cacophony, staccato, find purchase, hale. I still recommend the series.

Good but a weaker showing
One of the things I love most about Robinson's books is how he weaves a plausible background for his wacky stories. these short stories are largely missing that, though, so I just couldn't get into the story as much.

King King Callsign King
The boxset is a completion of 3 side novel set in chess team universe with Jack Sigler calling King has the MC if the stories. The novels take king on a truly explosive journey from the streets of Africa to the deserts of America to the city of lights for one dark fleed of battle. An in the novel you get an all adversary to push the limits of king in New impossible battles out of the stuff of legends.
Has I read the novel the scientific aspect where explained but the why of how it all went wrong were not like why the blue light energy was opening holes in the ground or how the phones were attuned to the demon. That was the only let down I really felt from the boxset.
The voices down by Kaffer were septacular has Usual do I noticed a lack of diversity in local speech like he could have used more when french person was speaking or when the Afican rebels spoke. Do i belife this was more a lack on Jeremy's side has Kaffer probably didn't have many chacthers to switch into to notice the lack of regional accent for Africa or Paris chacthers.

All Hail to the King!
Although this was originally published as a 3 part set of Novellas I opted to get them all in a complete set and was not disappointed. This is effectively a King Solo adventure and was a excellent focus the one member of the Chess Team's fight to save the world from evil. Bringing in new enemies and old allies to stop another world changing event. Jeremy Robinson grabs you from the start and only slows down to let you catch your breath before hurtling you towards another set of world altering tribulations. Jeffery Kafer once again pulls out all the stops and brings King to life and drops you into the middle of the fray. Robinson and Kafer are a superb team up for breakneck action.

3 great stories
It's awesome! well worth the read or in this case the listen! I have become a fan boy of jeremy robinson and his books! To be honest it been hard to find a series that can hold my attention and cause me to remember each character and its history. Jeremy has done it and he blends characters from his other series together in new books seamlessly!
