In this newly updated edition of the "meticulous and devastating" (Associated Press) account of violence and espionage that spent months on the New York Times Bestsellers list, Ronan Farrow exposes serial abusers and a cabal of powerful interests hell-bent on covering up the truth, at any cost—from Hollywood to Washington and beyond.

In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood's most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family. This is the untold story of the exotic tactics of surveillance and intimidation deployed by wealthy and connected men to threaten journalists, evade accountability, and silence victims of abuse. And it's the story of the women who risked everything to expose the truth and spark a global movement

"Meticulous and devastating...part All the President's Men, part spy thriller."—Rasha Madkour, Associated Press

"At the heart of every great noir is a conspiracy of evil that imbues the initial crime uncovered by the hero with a weightier resonance than was immediately obvious. So it goes with Catch and Kill."—Elizabeth Bruenig, The Washington Post

"The connections between presidents, media moguls, and spies described in Catch and Kill are stranger than fiction. As a novel, it would be a page-turner. As a reported piece of nonfiction, it's terrifying."—Eliana Dockterman, Time

holy shit!

A great book that brings to light one way in which rich and powerful people get away with doing whatever they want.

exceptional listen

I knew nothing of Ronan going into this book other than he broke the Weinstein store and was engaged to John Lovett. this book was so gripping and interesting. I listened to 8 out of the 10 hours of it on the first day. highly recommend.

Intriguing Story, Very Well-Written

Ronan Farrow did an incredible job sticking with the story to expose Harvey Weinstein and others who covered for him over many years. The whole tale is astounding, from the sheer number of women impacted by abuse from Harvey Weinstein, to the lengths gone to stop Farrow from continuing his work.

As a journalist, he should be proud of the work he did. The book itself is very well-written, although it started to feel a little disjointed towards the end.

Like other reviewers, I found the narration distracting. Some of the accents were very well-done, whereas others fell flat. There were too many accents/voices to try to get them all perfect, and often I ended up feeling pulled away from the story by thinking too much about the narration.

Wow! An amazing read.

This book started slow and presented so much background that it was, at first, difficult to engage in. But because of the importance of the content, I persisted and in short order, I became fascinated and couldn’t put it down. This an amazingly insightful and well done piece of writing. Wow!

Ignore the fake reviews, worth the listen

After listening to the book, it made me wonder if some of the bad reviews were part of the system that oppressed this story getting out earlier.
it's a story that needed to be told. Narration was good, so was the book.

Phenomenal Reporting

I'm glad I finally dove into this one, and cannot recommend the audio version of it enough, This is truly a masterclass in investigative journalism and is a necessary read to remind ourselves that big news corporations do not always have the public's best interests at heart.

Taking down the nepharious at its best!!!

Ronan Farrow and all if his helpers, especially the women who were abused for years need to be commended for their courage, strength and perseverance in delivering this story!!!!!
Everyone needs to be accountable for their actions and behaviours. No one should be above the law!!!
Thank you Ronan for exposing how morally corrupt our societies can be. May your story help us strive to do better as a human race.

Best Audiobook

Best audiobook I've ever encountered. Farrow's voices and the backing music made this a particularly great listening experience. Although I wasn't sure about his voices at first, by the end, I was a believer in them. The underlying story is vital and well told, and his reporting is superb.

I finished this book in one sitting

I cannot sent that curiosity and feminist ideas brought me to this book. One of me closest friends has been outspoken about her experience as a survivor of sexual harassment, and while severely triggered when reading this book, she recommended that we all read this, not just because it is excellent investigative reporting, but also because it gave a true (though through a man’s lens) of the trauma and revictimization that each of these women went through, so that powerful men could remind themselves how powerful they really are.

I’m not sorry to thank Ronan Farrow and to dust off my subscription to the New Yorker in order to find news that the networks I foolishly trusted (I am looking directing at you, NBC and AMI) covered up with the wanton destruction of women.

Intriguing and Disturbing

A very tangled web of lies, deceit, and sheer will to discover the truth. Farrow paints a very complex picture, and it leaves you captivated but extremely shaken by the amount of twists and turns it takes to get there. Very frightening to realize how many people were involved in this story, and how many tried to cover it up.

Although the story itself is great, Farrow's attempt at voicing accents is really distracting because it's just so bad. Still, worth a listen to...maybe would be better to just read the book.
