Things took a hard turn for the terrible here.

This is the book where the series jumps the shark. Suddenly in an effort to be edgy, we're hearing about child sexual assault and castration? The books always had a juvenile albeit laughable tone, but he tries to add some realism and grit to poor effect in Book 3. Very disappointed with where Bevan took the series, I'll be exiting stage left at this Critical Fail, thanks.
