Publisher's Summary

Seth Andrews idolized Rush Limbaugh. He listened to Glenn Beck. He read Ann Coulter. He watched Fox News. He was an evangelical Christian once tethered to right-wing media, which constantly warned of an attack on American values by liberals and secular humanists. Today, Seth is a liberal and secular humanist.

This audiobook explores the Fox News culture, which both reflects and informs American conservatism, shaping public opinion on important issues like religion, government, race, foreign policy, war, protest, LGBT rights, and the Constitution. It's an exposé of conservative media's "closed systems" which constantly feed on (and feed into) public outrage, ignorance, bigotry, and fear. It's also the story of one man's personal journey into a larger and better world.

Good

Pretty good for a self-published memoir style. Seth really puts his heart out there for all to see and know

Basically a podcast...but that's not a bad thing

Seth's not an expert, but he's a darn good podcaster. Fans will love it. Recommended.

Well worth the read

I discovered Mr Andrews online, and love his voice and his message.. Being a fairly militant atheist, his focus (and struggles) on challenging bad ideas while seeing the good in people, was a bit of a challenge - I tend to get angry about the injustice perpetrated by those ideas. But his own descriptions of loving his family despite their often rejecting behaviour reminds me of our common humanity. This particular book got a bit lost in details at times, but still very worth the read and I highly recommend his "thinking atheist" podcast.
