Who doesn't LOVE a pretend romance story?!!

Yes, I'm a sucker for a romance novel that includes a fake romance which, of course, leads to the real thing (and also books where the main characters go on road trips together, but that's not in this book :) A rich, bratty woman is trying to prove to her awful grandmother that she is a responsible person and should get her inheritance since she used to party all the time and not hold a job. she meets a struggling waitress who needs help with her sick son...and an agreement was formed. you pretend we're a happy family and I'll pay you. sounds corny and it's been done before, but I REALLY LIKED THIS STORY. I finished it in 2 days. wish it was longer.

Narrator

This narrator needs to do children’s books, not romance. Her voice and rhythm suck the romance right out of the story.

Slow burn romance!

First off let me start with the fact that I’ve never read or listened to anything by Alison Grey... I also received this audiobook when codes were given away for an honest review.
Plot:
Wow am I really glad I was given an opportunity to give it a listen... “Contract for Love” is like many other books about a fake relationship between two adults... This one we start with Madison who is nothing but a trust fund baby who likes to party and go threw women as fast as her money. She also has a chip on her shoulder and answers to nobody but herself. Then you have Sherry, a single mother with a young child who is just barely getting by. Working two jobs to make ends meet and living in a run down trailer park while raising a sick child. Without giving to much away and or any spoilers, let’s just say both find themselves in a predicament where they can help each other out. Now the difference between this book to many of the others with this familiar plot is that the characters seem more real (specially Madison). It’s not all sunshine and roses threw out the story and when I say slow burn, it’s truly that. It takes a while for both of the main characters to find their truths...even as much as I disliked Madison and her attitude, I couldn’t help but root for Madison and Sherry and there make shift family. This audiobooks held my interest right up to the very end.
Narration: In my opinion, a great narrator is one who's voice allows you to become immersed in the story and never think about the narrator themselves.
Emily Beresford did just that, Her ability to use her voice to give each character their own personality and being able to read the child’s parts without sounding nasally or fake was outstanding ...Overall I would tell you to go ahead and give this one a listen. I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for this author. 5⭐️

Terrible Narration!

I don’t normally review, but I couldn’t get through this book because the narration was so bad. Sounded robotic with no emotion, except when speaking as a child.
The story seemed good but I couldn’t get through it, will consider purchasing actual book.

Cute and Steamy

This was a nice little story with good character development. The angst was scattered and minimal, the fluff was adorable, and I enjoyed the ride. The narrator did a great job including all the little details to the conversations, and really seemed to bring the story to life.

Be patient with this book

It took me awhile to get into this book because it was difficult to get where Madison was coming from, but the story came together and I was happy that I continued.
