Story
The Fearless Organization offers practical guidance for teams and organizations who are serious about success in the modern economy. With so much riding on innovation, creativity, and spark, it is essential to attract and retain quality talent, but what good does this talent do if no one is able to speak their mind? The traditional culture of "fitting in" and "going along" spells doom in the knowledge economy. Success requires a continuous influx of new ideas, new challenges, and critical thought, and the interpersonal climate must not suppress, silence, ridicule, or intimidate.

We end up with temporary shelters that increase homelessness, drug busts that increase drug-related crime, or food aid that increases starvation.

Questioning - deeply, imaginatively, "beautifully" - can help us identify and solve problems, come up with game-changing ideas, and pursue fresh opportunities. So why are we often reluctant to ask "Why?"

Publisher's Summary
Conversation is a crucial part of everything we do. It influences our well being. A good conversation can leave us ready for anything, and a bad one can ruin our whole day.
But most of us are unaware of the nature of our conversations, let alone how to make them consistently affirming and empowering.
This audiobook teaches us how to use appreciative inquiry, one of the most effective and widely-used approaches for fostering positive change, to dramatically improve the outcomes of our conversations. By focusing on what we want to happen instead of what we want to avoid and asking questions to deepen understanding and increase possibilities, we expand creativity, improve productivity, and unleash potential, at work and home.
“This book is for everyone, from managers striving to lead more effectively, to parents trying to cultivate better conversations with children.” - Lindsey Godwin, director of David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry
“Wow! What a great book! I'm going to use it in my courses and with every client. It is rare to read a book that is so compelling and practical with simple guidelines anyone can use.” - Gervase R. Bushe, professor at Simon Fraser University and author of Clear Leadership
“A conversation is the smallest visible unit of change, our starting point for every important change effort. This book is a gift to the world, business, schools, and families!” - Jon Berghoff, president of Flourishing Leadership Institute
“A must read for all leaders. Practical wisdom and relatable stories!” - Robert Easton, senior managing director at Accenture
“This short book is a rare gem-entertaining, relevant, educational, and immensely practical!” Maureen McKenna, founder of Return on Energy
This is a unique guide to changing our world of conversation.

Wonderfully helpful business book
I was introduced to the theory of Appreciative Inquiry by one of Jackie's associates Jon Berghoff & The Flourishing Leadership Institute. Although I've done a fair amount of individual research on AI, this is the first book I've read that breaks this transformative process down into easy to use steps, tactics, and conversational structures. if you're looking for a practical way to have more effective, positive, and easy to use structure for tge conversations you have with your family, your business associates, and the universe at-large - this is the book for you.

If felt like a SELL instead of a how to guide
Was most disappointed. I became frustrated with the narrator who kept on saying how amazing AI is and not giving concise examples and the questions needed to ask. Compared to the book compassionate conversations...there is no comparison. With the latter I walked away with a Mirage of tools T

What did I do?
10 minutes in and I keep asking, when are you going to get to the story? I don’t need a history of every business person you’ve worked with. Follow you’re own advice as so far, it’s not a conversation worth having!
