Publisher's Summary

Cosmos is one of the bestselling science books of all time. In clear-eyed prose, Sagan reveals a jewel-like blue world inhabited by a life form that is just beginning to discover its own identity and to venture into the vast ocean of space. Featuring a new Introduction by Sagan's collaborator, Ann Druyan, and a new Foreword by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, Cosmos retraces the fourteen billion years of cosmic evolution that have transformed matter into consciousness, exploring such topics as the origin of life, the human brain, Egyptian hieroglyphics, spacecraft missions, the death of the Sun, the evolution of galaxies, and the forces and individuals who helped to shape modern science.

Great book I was hooked right from the start. levar Burton did a fantastic job of narrating most of the book.

Amazing

A fantastic insight into Cosmos. Although much has been learnt since this book was written but the point of view of the author is great when it points to harmony among people. The presenter is superb and does a great job at making the book come to life.

Double Whammy

The amazing writing style of Carl Sagan plus the great voice of Lavar Burton was a great combo. I will never read my paperback copy the same again!

Excellent, stirs the imagination

Such a good book! Carl Sagan does a wonderful job of introducing scientific concepts in a way that's approachable, but doesn't feel like you're being talked down to. His passion for science is evident throughout, and contagious!

LeVar Burton does a great job of narrating, too - really brings it to life.

Timeless

Even though Carl wrote this a time ago, the facts and data are still relevant. The message of this beautiful story is so relevant and is so significant to out species today.

Everyone should have the privilege of hearing this story.

Not the right narrator

A classic of modern science communication. Sagan makes the big concepts very approachable.
Unfortunately though Mr Burton is not the right narrator for this material for me.

An inspiring journey!

Complex issues are presented in simple English. Well done. The book makes difficult subjects not only easy to understand but also very interesting.
