The universal tendency, he shows, is to see spirituality as a process of self-improvement - the impulse to develop and refine the ego when the ego is, by nature, essentially empty. Essential reading
Essential reading for any serious practitioner of the path. I've read this book time and again over the past 20+ years and find new depths with each reading.
I'll admit sometimes I have no idea what he's referring to. But the multiple times I'm in awe of this teachers insights make up for the limitations of my own understandings.
