Surprisingly good
This book definitely draws on the back story of characters from The Clone Wars. I would proceed with caution if you have not watched that show. That being said, this book really explored some themes and characters more deeply than the show allowed and this really gave more life to some already great characters. I would strongly recommend this book to any SW fan, and to anyone who watched and enjoyed The Clone Wars!

i cried every time i thought about it for weeks
i loved this story, forever wishing theyd adapted it into clone wars but i can see why they didn't thought it'd be nice to see it done in the future maybe. this book is fantastic, the only reason it gets 4 stars is because (SPOILERS) of ventress dying, my girl deserved better than getting played by the jedi council like this

Essential for fans of the Clone Wars TV Series
If this were a stand-alone book with little or no connection to the long and thoroughly serialized series that is Star Wars, it might be passed over as yet another unremarkable space-fantasy story for readers who thirst for that sort of thing.
But as it stands, this IS Star Wars. So it is only through the lens of Star Wars that this novel can be fully appreciated.
Taken from unproduced scripts written for what would have been part of seasons 7 and 8 of the seminal TV series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Dark Disciple puts to page the intended conclusion of one of series most poignant and emotionally satisfying of story arcs: the redemption of former-Sith assasin Asajj Ventress. Thanks to the more intimate medium of prose, author Christie Golden allows the reader to get inside the head of Ventress, Quinlan Vos and other characters of the TV series to understand their inner workings in a way that wouldn't be as easy to translate on the small screen. And the story is all the more resonate for it.
Highly recommended for those fans who are keen to jump into the seventh and final season of Clone Wars airing as of the writing of this review. Please read or listen to this before you do that; it's fully canon! "Crystal Crisis on Utapau" and the comic "Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir" are also recommended before viewing Season 7.

Great Story, Well Written
Very Profound story and great redemption arc. I will not go into any details but this is def good enough to be made into clone wars episodes. (Being the best ones of the whole season). This story brings different perspectives to life and demonstrates both brash consiquences with harrowing relizations. Kept me engaged throughout the whole book.
