Publisher's Summary

There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept...but have now awoken.

For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world...and Callie along with it.

But it’s not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des’s father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place.

Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all...and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

A long awaited finale to an outstanding series!!

Laura Thalassa did a wonderful job closing this series. Even though, it saddens me that this series had to end, it was done with the right amount of forward thought that leaves nothing lingering and hope for their future together. 👍

Holy Shamoly!!! That was bloody HOT!!!

I really enjoyed The Bargainer series and I'm sad to see it come to an end. The characters were original, the storyline kept me entertained from beginning to end and the sexual shenanigans were HOT!!

This is the second audio I've listened to where a second narrator makes a one chapter appearance. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT ABOUT??? What's the point? The fact that it's Susannah Jones narrating for the majority of the story, why would you even bother? Ms Jones is one of my favourite narrators and I think she can convincingly perform both the female and male characters. Not that Jay Ben Markson did a bad job for the two seconds (or what felt like it) he performed, it just seemed a little pointless. I'm not sure I'm a fan of this new fandangled (to me) approach to narrating. If you're going to have two narrators, bloody use two narrators.

I gave Dark Harmony four stars instead of five stars because I thought the epic battle between foes was a little off, to be honest. I mean we've finally put all the pieces together, worked out who The Thief is and it just fizzled out. My heart wasn't pumping. I wasn't thinking that...maybe good wouldn't overcome evil. It just felt a little anti-climatic and missing the kaboom I was expecting. I enjoyed every step of the journey to the fight, just not the actual fight. I mean seriously, The Thief had been playing havoc for so long he deserved a million years of suffering and torture. It was so blah, I can't even remember how it ended.

Loved Cally and Des together and thought their love and devotion to each other was amazing. Observing Cally come into her powers made her even more exceptional and I loved her games in manipulation. Des is a little bit bad but in an *OH SO GOOD WAY!!* I loved Des' insatiable need for Calypso and his protective, adoring and devoted ways. The two of them are the best kind of para/fantasy couples where she plays just as an important role as him.

If you haven't tried a Laura Thalassa story or series yet, I highly recommend checking The Bargainer out.

Love a 3rd time!!

Absolutely loved this series. The narrator is perfect for this series and keeps you interested. You know immediately who is speaking and I loved her male voices. There's just the right amount of romance and paranormal to keep you very interested. I could not stop listening. I loved the relationship between Des and Callie. Loved that there wasn't a ton of angst just to keep the book going. They love each other, plain and simple.

Perfect end to the series

Have I told you how much I love Laura Thalassa?
This is the 6th book I’ve read from her and she never disappoints me.

As usual, her writing quality is extraordinary. Her characters in this series—their strengths and simultaneous weaknesses—have always blown me away. They’re sassy and comical, serious and fiercely intelligent, sinister and wicked. Thalassa is so good at balancing these opposing attributes and making her characters so real and deep. She is a serious talent and I will forever be a fan.

This is a great conclusion to The Bargainer series. By the end, we’ve see every kingdom in the Otherworld, except the underwater kingdom of Mar. Every place that’s been teased at or mentioned before, we finally get to visit. Thalassa did a purposeful job of bringing everything full circle in this one. The secrets game, the bargaining, the truth or dare, the beads, it’s all here even until the last line. We go back to earth to enjoy Callie and Dez’s favorite haunts one last time. We see Callie and Dez’s love grow even further in a dazzling amount of intimate scenes. We see Callie have to confront and adjust to not only being an immortal now, but also what it truly means to be a siren—something that she’s actually been hiding from all her life. We see her finally embrace who and what she is, no longer leashing herself. She goes balls-to-the-wall as she faces the Thief of Souls head on. I particularly LOVED the siren elements in those ending scenes. Callie is such an astounding character and I just appreciate her so much. She has been through some crazy, messed up shit. She’s been raped, caged, tortured, transformed without her consent—twice. She’s been whipped, belittled, and manipulated.
But She. Is. A. Bad. Ass. B*tch.
She doesn’t take shit from anyone and it’s afraid to be a little sinister and wicked herself.

This book has a great makeup of mystery and deceit, love and romance, action and comical moments. Thalassa is the queen of balance, both in her characters and in her story arcs.

My only complaint is the pacing and placement of certain scenes. I felt like for a large portion of the book, so many great, loving and sentimental things were happening (which I enjoyed, don’t get me wrong), but I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. As the lovely, picturesque moments kept coming, I kept thinking, “This is going too well. When is the sh*t going to hit the fan? Any minute now...” I couldn’t fully enjoy these moments, because of that. I wish that there had been more crazy action moments sprinkled in between the beautiful sentimental parts.

Overall, I loved this book. I loved this series. I love Laura Thalassa!

I enjoyed the story very much it was funny and kept me wanting more but I did not like the ending.I felt as though the ending was rushed and did not correlate with the hints and riddles that was given throughout the story.

Was excited to finish the story

I was so excited when I saw this book come out. I have loved the Bargainer and anything that comes from Laura Thalassa...however, I felt like the good story I was in to got lost in too much sex. I am not usually one to complain about steamy sex scenes either. I am usually a big fan, but I found myself getting bored with all of the sex and thinking "Again?! Can we move on already?!" It didn't add to the story, it just diminished it. I couldn't even finish the book.
