Satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. More modern science fiction focused, along with an excellent summation of human nature.

brilliant story and narration
this was the best book of the three. I really enjoyed it. It's beautifully written and focuses on an interesting central theme. The narration is excellent. I highly recommend this.

Best book of the Trilogy
An amazing story that sadly brings the Trilogy albeit in a neat little ending. Questions get answered, as a reader I do appreciate that.
The story is rich with details and explanations that the first 2 books brought to surface but did not answer.
I highly recommend this whole Series to any SciFi, Bio or Anthro fan...it really does create a world that peeks many curiosities.

A gem...
Wonderful closing of a wonderful and haunting trilogy. CB is definitely on my short list of great SF writers.

A great, great finish to a great series!
I thought book 1 and 2 of the series were great books before I listened to the final instalment. All I can say is "it is a great, great book" (with apologies to the author for copying his writing style).
The book continued with the expectations the author had set: an engrossing storyline, unexpected plot twists (which I had come to expect), vivid characters, and the depth of insight into how human society operates. For this last book, the author became more philosophical and went in depth to reflect on what is it that bind a society and its culture together.
In the end, it is a story that entertains as well as enlightens. For the price of one book, one gets the benefit of a science fiction and non-fiction.
My hats off to the author!

Disappointing ending
This ending is beyond disappointing, I regret spending so much time on this series. Beckett built his own religion under the guise of "story" and was too weak to destroy it at the end to relieve his characters from the suffering of religion.
imagine that you, a brand new civilization built without religion yet they create one out of thin air.
EDIT: "I'm now a shadow woman". I did not finish the book there and refunded it.
