Featured Article: 11 Book Series for Fans of the Twilight Saga

The Twilight Saga, by Stephenie Meyer, was one of the most widely popular book series of its time. It spawned a huge following, gained devoted fans that argued fervently for either Team Edward or Team Jacob, and generally started an entire young adult vampire craze. It was also a sign to many that teens could still become obsessed with books—and not just obsessed, but obsessed on a widespread, global level. But after Twilight came to an end, many younger listeners (and the adults they grew into) were left wondering what next series could fill the void. Luckily, a plethora of authors stepped up with content sure to satisfy any Twilight fan’s thirst for a new listen.

Just leaves You Wanting More

Charlaine Harris started this series off with a bang, with characters that are fully fleshed out as the book unfolds and a story that keeps you wanting to know more and get to know Sookie and the other characters more and more. Johanna Parker was the perfect person to narrate this book and all the other books in this series. It is great how she manages to make a voice for each character in the book which helps to draw you into the book more. #Audible1

Amazing narrator, story gets there

I watched True Blood back in the day, I was down the rabbit hole of this genre pretty deep back then, but for all I *watched* then I was very late to the game when it comes to *reading* such content in published books (i.e., anything with spice/smut). Meaning I avoided these books for the longest time, first because of that and then the show’s series finale came out. It left such a sour taste in my mouth I thought I’d be done with this series forever, but I saw I could download the first 3 books without spending a credit and it’s the best decision I ever made. The story itself starts slow and it took me a few chapters to get a feel for Sookie but MY GOD BOOK BILL IS 💯🎉 > TV SHOW BILL, I can honestly say I prefer this narrator’s Bill voice to Stephen Moyer’s 😅 as their relationship progresses so does the plot, and ultimately this proves to be a fun, quick/easy read, The ultimate vampire popcorn read, with a great narrator that doesn’t sound like she’s forcing her lower registers like some female voices can be prone to. Definitely continuing on even past the free downloads if this keeps up

Fantastic Series!

It's been a while since I truly felt a sense of loss when a series ended but realize that anything more would have been wrong.

I never explored anything of Charlaine Harris' as I thought her writing was mostly teen-level vampire - boy was I wrong - this is definitely not for young teens. The series had everything - blood, violence, spicy sex, murder, intrigue, torture, scheming, etc., but it also had friendship, kindness, romance, and magic. I actually had real physical reactions and fell a bit in love with the vamps and the weres, that then turned to hatred, then betrayal, then bitterness. I loved then hated Bill and then loved him again, totally loved and ended up hating Eric, but always, always loved Sam. I laughed out loud, cried real tears, and felt that awful pit in my stomach at times. If you want a series that you can become fully invested in, this is it. Johanna Parker did a fantastic job on the narration and is in fact one of my favorite narrators - she definitely did justice to this series. I knew who was whom by the voices and didn't find anything about her narration irritating.

I was thrilled to find some familiar characters in Charlaine Harris' series "Midnight, Texas", which was an incredible trilogy. If you enjoyed reading about Sookie Stackhouse, you might want to take a drive down to Midnight and say hello.

Ms. Harris, Ms. Parker - thank you for providing so many hours of entertainment - it was like an emotional roller coaster from start to finish and I loved every minute.

Looking forward to next one!

I really enjoyed Sukie Stakehouse. She's serious and human, with all our human foibles. The story moves along . The characters are nicely developed and we like them. We don't find out , why our hero vamp was buddies with the other 3 miserable vamps that jarred, but hey we"re talking vamps and supernaturals. Loved the romp
