Publisher's Summary

Some days, all you need is a message from a stranger.

Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas. The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional.

Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect.

What she didn't count on was falling in love with the guy.

Going around in circle..

The story could have been good if it had been shorter. You could think that the author had a homework to write and were looking for ways to say the same things again and again using different words. The narrators were good. Not enough of Teddy Hamilton though ;) I'm getting my credit back.

Had Potential

Great at the beginning with the letters but the male lead was too perfect which made him uninteresting to me. I also found the female leads internal dialogue cringy which made her unlikable. This book glorifies the cheesy "I'm not like other girls" trope and I'm not here for it. I love the author in general, but I gotta return this one.

Disappointed

Great story till the ending, felt like it stopped unfinished. Very disappointing for this author

One of my favourites but confused by the narrating

I absolutely love Mariana Zapata's novels, I've read them all multiple times and I'm now getting into the audiobooks of them. I enjoyed Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton narrating but for some reason the books goes from Teddy narrating Aaron's part to Callie narrating it. Not a fan of that and kind of ruined the audio version for me..

Pretty good book

One warning , you have to get through the first 10 chapters as “emails” read back and forth. But after that point it is really good.
Not that the emails are bad but just makes it a little less like a story in my opinion.

Even better in audio!

This is one of my absolute favourites of MZ and have probably read it a half a dozen times. Listening to it in audio just made the whole experience feel like a warm hug🥰 I cannot wait to listen to her other books now that I’m hooked

Had Real Potential

I really was enjoying this book, specifically with the male and female narrators; once it switched to just the female narrator, I was really disappointed! They should have had Teddy Hamilton all the way through the story. I also found it to drag on a little at times; just get to the point.

Great Listen

This is my second book by Mariana Zapata and I LOVED IT! Can't wait to listen to more of her books. I also really enjoyed the narration by Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton.

at the beginning of the book is
quite slow I almost didn't finish it I put it down several times but I am really glad I did because the last half of the book is really sweet and I'd recommend this book to anyone
