Publisher's Summary
You're about to discover how to recognize the signs of depression in teens and what treatment will help them to combat their symptoms.
Depression can cause a person to function at a low level, especially when the person is being affected by psychological depression that can lead to being sad and inactive, having difficulty in thinking, and not being able to concentrate; when the person shows a significant increase or decrease in appetite and spends a lot of time sleeping and feeling hopeless; and sometimes suicidal tendencies are all associated with depression.
We are going to focus on teen depression and the signs and treatment. Therefore, what is teen depression? When a teenager is growing up and begins to encounter situations and circumstances that he or she has never experienced before, beginning from the basic unit of life - i.e., the family - to the larger contemporary society, the teenager may not be experienced in how to handle the problem. This often can lead to depression, and the above-mentioned symptoms of depression begin to develop and take a toll on them.

Uninteresting narrator
It is hard to listen to because the narration is very monotone. Somewhat helpful in recognizing signs of depression.

Over Simplified Teen Depression.
At one point this book states all teen should be happy all the time because they do not have the weight of the world on them like adults. This is just not true. Teens today have more pressure on them than ever before, social media, peer pressure, more access to drugs and alcohol, pressure to get great grades, having to decide at a young age their career path, outside of school activities such as dance or groups and finding a job to help finance those new phones etc. Young people are not allowed to be young people, they are expected to pick up a sign and protest. I just think this book over simplifies teen depression.
